How do I keep my div at the bottom at all times without blocking another div?

So essentially I want something like this with 3 divs, one at the top, one in the middle (that is scrollable and has a flex view to it) and then the bottom one under that div showing a play button to play a slideshow.

But for some reason my bottom bar is stuck at the bottom of the page making the entire page scrollable which I do not want.

I tried setting a fixed position of the bottom bar but then it covered up the pictures like this.

which also is an issue because when I scrolled down to the bottom it was overlapping even tho I was at the bottom, the bottom bar covered the bottom of the images.

Set a fixed height to the entire container. You don't need fixed positioning. There's other stuff you can remove, as well. See my CSS comments.

Div slide up with pure css

Is it possible with pure css to have the control overlay div slide up from the bottom once the arrow is clicked? I have a max height of 119px; so the overlay stops right below the numbers. I have added a transition and a .close property but I cant seem to toggle it to the arrow div. Can anyone give suggestions? Thanks.
