How to dynamically set month end date if start date is picked from the calendar of Angular's mat-datepicker functionality?
            Asked 2022-Apr-04 at 03:03

Eg. If Start date picked from calendar is "15/06/2000" and if no End Date is selected from calendar then End Date gets automatically set to "30/06/2000". End Date can also be picked from calendar as per choice.

            • Datepicker should work for below two scenarios :

Scenario 1 : Start date and End date selected from calendar as per choice.

Scenario 2 : Start date selected but no End date selected from calendar then automatically the End date should be set to month end date.

The code should use functionality where in the start date and end date is picked from single input field.

            • The Angular code snippet below works only in selecting the date range :

We can use (dateChange)="onStartChange($event)" from startDate picker to emit chosen value and thus updating value of param endDate which is Input value for endDate picker [value]="endDate".

Hence, you need to set the value with jMoment.Moment type to FormControl.

If you want to filter out the range, then the result must be a boolean, not a date. You are trying to return a date which is a run-time casting error:

Angular materials does not support time picking at the moment...

If you have look at the documentation for DatePicker's, you will notice it does not mention time picking.

That's the issue you are facing. Here is the issue tracker for the feature

To resolve your time issue you will need to implement the smarts of time handling separately from the vanilla Materials DatePicker results, or use a third party component with time picking capabilities.

Using mat-date-range-input but the JAWS reader first reads the end date with JAWS-e (next edit box)
            Asked 2022-Mar-02 at 17:29

I have a component with a mat-date-range-input. My client uses the JAWS reader and uses JAWS-e (next edit box) to navigate. When they do this JAWS first reads the 'end date' of the mat-date-range-input. The 'start date' is read when JAWS-e is pressed again. I had expected that the 'start date' would be read first.

Below is the part of the html with the mat-date-range-input. I first had the feeling that the span with aria-hidden=true could be the cause of the issue but removing it didn't fix it.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a solution?

            Thanks&Regards, Nelleke

This problem occurs no matter what screen reader you use, not just JAWS.

Angular Material is mis-using the aria-owns attribute. You can test this on their "Date Range Selection" example. Their code is basically like this:

Unable to design date range picker in NextJs Project
            Asked 2021-Sep-25 at 11:44

I am stuck with a design issue. I am unable to implement a date range picker as per the client's requirement. I am working on a website where I have to develop the design as per the mockup. I tried to implement Airbnb react dates. But the customization curve is too high for me, especially for the dates input field. Although I have developed the base layout when I try to implement any date range picker it is breaking the design. It would be a great help if someone could help me to implement the date range picker as per the mockup design. I am sharing my code along with the GitHub repo link where I have shared the codes and also a demo of the working design.

I have organized the components in a component directory that contains two-component one is Header and another one is a header widget. In the header widget component, I have tried to implement a date picket design. I am sharing the code of the header and header widget section for detailed understanding.

Angular Material Datepicker Highlight Range Week Start to Week End
            Asked 2021-Aug-25 at 08:20

I need users to pick a beginning week and an ending week since the data being returned in a range of start week to end week.

I am attempting to highlight the entire week on any date picked on start date range and highlight the entire end week selecting the last day in the end week.

I am using a date range picker and the highlight works fine and inputs the start day of the week and the last day in the end week... but i cant understand how to highlight it in the picker. Instead, the picker shows the mid week day a the start of the selected dates not the beginning day of thee week/

I want my users to select a start and end week.

I have created a dateClass and a method but i am unable to set the week range to a color.

            Reproduction

            Here's the stackblitz: https://stackblitz.com/edit/angular-ucvaay?file=src/app/date-range-picker-overview-example.html

            Steps to reproduce:

            1. Click the calendar - click a date that is not a weekend or the beginning day of the week
            2. the input will update the value to the beginning day of the week and when an end day is selected it will get the last day in the end date week (as expected)
            3. The issue: Open the datepicker again and notice that highlighted date range does not include the beginning days (entire week highlighted nor the end week highlighted.

I need users to pick a beginning week and an ending week since the data being returned in a range of start week to end week.

Any idea on how to get the start and end week to select like the range selection?

You can add a FormGroup to your datepicker which gives you the ability to change the values of the start and end date. In your dateRangeChange()-method you could then update the selected values to the beginning and end of the week. ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Aug-02 at 15:24

I've implemented a way to force selecting valid range only at StackBlitz.

In this way, after selecting the start date you will disable the invalid date range.

Algorithm: (Considering your disabled range 5-10)

            • If you select date less than 5 then the maximum selectable date should be date 4. E.g: If the first date is 1st January then the maximum selectable date will be 4th January.
            • If you select date greater than 10 then the maximum selectable date should be next month's date 4. E.g: If the first date is 11th January then the maximum selectable date will be 4th February.

            Hope, you'll understand the demo.
