            Try installing jupyterlab dash, it worked for me!

            you can do it through the jupyterlab menu or by following these instructions.

            It looks like you should upgrade your plotly as well, because plotly express is now part of plotly i.e.

            I had been trying to learn how to use plotly. I followed all the installation instructions, but when I run the code for the rendering, it just appears a blank space.

            Your best bet is to either start with a clean environment or uninstall all Plotly extensions and modules, and then follow the instructions in https://plot.ly/python/getting-started/

            Unfortunately, older versions or the remnants of previous installations can interfere with installation of new versions.
