Calculate percentage of HIV cases in different US States using R
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 14:40

I am having a dataset which contains the absolute HIV cases of four US State over 2 years.

There are three columns date (Jan 2018, Feb 2018 ...) , state (CA, NY, FL, MA) , and abs_cases in the data frame. I am ignoring the population changes in those 2 years in the respective states.

I now want to calculate the relative cases for each state using the population for each state which I googled. (I will just use fantasy numbers here) pop<- "CA"= 11111, "NY"= 22222, "FL"= 33333,"MA"= 444444.

            I already tried using

Without an example dataset, here is my guess at what you are trying to do. You can convert pop into a dataframe using enframe and join it to df by state. Then, you can compute the cases per population by each State in each month.

How to reformat a corrupt json file with escaped ' and "?
            Asked 2021-Jun-13 at 11:41

            Problem

I have a large JSON file (~700.000 lines, 1.2GB filesize) containing twitter data that I need to preprocess for data and network analysis. During the data collection an error happend: Instead of using " as a seperator ' was used. As this does not conform with the JSON standard, the file can not be processed by R or Python.

Information about the dataset: Every about 500 lines start with meta info + meta information for the users, etc. then there are the tweets in json (order of fields not stable) starting with a space, one tweet per line.

This is what I tried so far:

            1. A simple data.replace('\'', '\"') is not possible, as the "text" fields contain tweets which may contain ' or " themselves.
            2. Using regex, I was able to catch some of the instances, but it does not catch everything: re.compile(r'"[^"]*"(*SKIP)(*FAIL)|\'')
            3. Using literal.eval(data) from the ast package also throws an error.

As the order of the fields and the legth for each field is not stable I am stuck on how to reformat that file in order to conform to JSON.

Normal sample line of the data (for this options one and two would work, but note that the tweets are also in non-english languages, which use " or ' in their tweets):

Use insert to place the column where you want. Find the location of the 'L' column for a given prefix and then place it after that. This assumes your DataFrame is organized in the beginning so that the 'XS' and 'XL' columns occur in pairs in that order.

You can either manually specify the prefixes or use all label characters except the last (i.e. drop the 'S' or 'L') for all columns before the 'JJ' column to determine what they are programmatically.

Google sheets binning and group by (custom time interval)
            Asked 2021-Jun-09 at 01:25

I wish to count events that occurred within a custom time interval : it could be within 24h, or within a week or 2-months span.

I am using google sheets: I can create a pivot table and group by month, however I'd like to explore insights using custom intervals (I'm looking for pattern in epilepsy).

As final result, I wanna have a table that, for each day, it is reported the number of frequencies within that interval.

Particularly, I wanna focus on the interval of 24h to count the number of events of epilepsy (known as cluster seizures).

And then, on custom days intervals to explore periodicity or trends - like each 48 hours, or each 15 or 30 days.

See a mockup of Google Sheet here:

Some symbols (including '#') are not valid URL symbols. If your URL needs to include them they need to be encoded. So take your original URL string and encode it with method URLEncoder.encode(...) Here is Javadoc for URLEncoder

            Couple things to check:

            1. Can you connect to MySQL outside of the script with the credentials you provided (mysql -u root -p)? If yes, then there may be a configuration problem in your script to connect. If not, confirm MySQL is running, then re-check your password. If a potential password issue, may be worth restarting MySQL by adding skip_grant_tables under your configuration file and restarting so you can log in w/o a password and reset the root password.
            2. Did you modify the MySQL configuration in any way, specifically the bind-address? By default, MySQL sets this to 127.0.0.1, so you may want to try connecting with 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost.
            3. If this is a non-Windows machine, is /etc/hosts configured properly for localhost (ex: 127.0.0.1 localhost)?

I use a different method to connect to MySQL via Python, so I am not as familiar with sqlalchemy.

The expected JSON result from your question is not the same as the JSON from the API!

You can use states.items.filter instead of states.filter but the API linked has no property abbr so it will return undefined:

When trying the replace your $line variable if (m5 != "e11621cc4370a5203423cc1d1ee8c2a7") { contains special regex characters that need to be escaped.
