kandi X-RAY | adnw Summary

adnw is a C library typically used in Utilities, Keyboard applications. adnw has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Strong Copyleft License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

This is a firmware for AVR microcontrollers with USB device support to simulate HID devices such as keyboards and a mice. It was initially created in 2010 for a custom split keyboard design based on two numpads with 4x6 keys on each side. At that time, the number of available firmware projects was pretty small, and this was merely started as a hack to be able to iterate quickly over different features I wanted to try out. Except to support my own prototypes, there is probably little value in the code found here for anyone else. Much more sophisticated projects like tmk or QMK have since been created, and should be preferred for new custom designs. A few unique features such as full on-keyboard configurability of trackpoint options as well as of all macros, and the convenient "passhash"-generator were once unique features, but also not implemented very cleanly and thus hard to redesign. By default, this firmware implements a more ergonomic layout without any further drivers on any host operating system. In its current state, the well evolved AdNW layout is implemented with modified layers 3&4 (special characters, navigational keys and numpad) from the neo layout. In addition, an integrated IBM trackpoint is also supported, but any PS/2 compatible device can also be hooked-up to the controller. My current keyboard and its development history can be found on Deskthority.net, Where you'll also find more detailed information on the hardware and the layout used as well as discussions related to these projects. These are my two main keyboards I use daily, both featuring 19 keys per side and an IBM trackpoint.

On line 12, instead of writing keyboard.write(numb), write keyboard.write(str(numb)). This changes numb which is an int type to a str type before writing it.

Capture all keypresses of the system with Tkinter
            Asked 2022-Mar-18 at 19:54

I'm coding a little tool that displays the key presses on the screen with Tkinter, useful for screen recording.

Is there a way to get a listener for all key presses of the system globally with Tkinter? (for every keystroke including F1, CTRL, ..., even when the Tkinter window does not have the focus)

I currently know a solution with pyHook.HookManager(), pythoncom.PumpMessages(), and also solutions from Listen for a shortcut (like WIN+A) even if the Python script does not have the focus but is there a 100% tkinter solution?

Indeed, pyhook is only for Python 2, and pyhook3 seems to be abandoned, so I would prefer a built-in Python3 / Tkinter solution for Windows.

The message doesn't go through the Form's key events and it will be handled by each dropdown.

You can use the approach which is mentioned in the comments, or as another option, you can implement IMessageFilter to capture the WM_KEYDOWN before it dispatches to the dropdown:

Simply set your @FocusState to true in .onAppear and wrap it in a DispatchQueue.main.asyncAfter. The delay is needed because the view has to be on screen before the @FocusState is changed or it won't work.

It actually depends on your take and which architecture you wanna follow. This snippet that I'm posting uses NotificationListener, a custom notification and a custom child widget. This might work for an application like a print or a callback, but you might need to change the architecture and use a state management tool to achieve greater things.

Compose Dialog closing on keyboard appearance when LazyColumn is in background
            Asked 2022-Feb-11 at 12:58

I have a layout where each item in a LazyColumn can display an item-specific dialog. The Dialogs showed and worked fine except for some of the larger ones where whenever I would try to edit text in one of the dialog's TextFields it would trigger the dialog to disappear.

I tried a lot of different approaches and the weirdest thing was that the dialog works fine and allows me do edit the textfields if I only scroll the LazyColumn by even 1 item before attempting to show the dialog.

It has proven hard to reproduce the issue in a simple setting as changing even basic elements of my code makes the bug disappear but I finally managed. The appearance of the bug seems to depend on the LazyColumn being Scrollable and on the KeyBoard to be of type text. Next a somewhat long code sample and a GIF showing the issue:

            Support

This firmware supports deterministic generation of variable passwords based on a master password. Given that the AVR used is inherently insecure with regard to flash or eeprom storage, it does not attempt to provide a cryptographically safe alternative to a password manager. Instead, this functionality can be seen as a convenient method to derive a part of a safe password platform-independently and without requiring further programs. Two generator algorithms are supported: HMAC-SHA1 and xorshift. The former is well-known and used for a similar purpose in the Password Hasher Plus chrome extension or the Twik implementations for Android and python. However, a complete compatibility with these was unnecessarily bloated, and HMAC-SHA1 - while desirable for its tested design and known properties - is probably overkill in the context of this hardware. Thus, a simple xorshift32-based PRNG is used to derive pseudo-random data, upon which password functionality is built. First, the features have to be unlocked by entering an unlock passphrase at command SUB_UNLOCK. This is then used to seed the xorshift generator and derive a temporary hash g_pw. If no key is pressed within 60min (or an unlock retried with invalid/empty passphrase), this information is wiped and the keyboard locked again. One can then retrieve random base64-encoded strings with SUB_RNDSTR. Another convenient method is the use of a tabula-recta that can be printed out for offline use. A call to SUB_TABULARECTA command with row, col, len will then return len characters from the matrix at row,col (wrapping around and down at EOL), and append a custom tag that can be stored in eeprom with SUB_SET_TAG (xor'ed with g_pw so unusable without unlocked firmware).
