Rust futures / async - await strange behavior
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 20:06

I am new to rust and I was reading up on using futures and async / await in rust, and built a simple tcp server using it. I then decided to write a quick benchmark, by sending requests to the server at a constant rate, but I am having some strange issues.

The below code should send a request every 0.001 seconds, and it does, except the program reports strange run times. This is the output:

You are not measuring the elapsed time correctly:

            1. total_send_time measures the duration of the spawn() call, but as the actual task is executed asynchronously, start_in.elapsed() does not give you any information about how much time the task actually takes.

            2. The ran in time, as measured by start.elapsed() is also not useful at all. As you are using blocking sleep operation, you are just measuring how much time your app has spent in the std::thread::sleep()

            3. Last but not least, your time_to_sleep calculation is completely incorrect, because of the issue mentioned in point 1.

It is because you are starting another server by ApplicationContext.run(EmbeddedServer.class).

You don't need it. It is enough to inject HttpClient into your class by constructor:

To remove the third-party dependency, the problem can be reproduced using a simple Micronaut app calling it's own service.

If this isn't going to throw an exception then I don't know what is going to.

This is caused by using blocking code within Netty's event loop.

The code over here is making a blocking request 20 times in a row which cause the machine to break. I don't know what data is coming from the client but I would never recommend to do it in this manner.

Please enable the quarkus-smallrye-jwt TRACE logging to see why the tokens are rejected. And indeed, as you have also found out, https protocol needs to be enabled in the native image, which can be done, as you have shown :-), by adding --enable-url-protocols=https to the native profile's properties in pom.xml.

This PR will ensure adding it manually won't be required.

Failing to deserialise a text/html json response
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 12:12

I am working on an integration into an old API which for some reason returns the json data as a text/html response. I have tried to Deserialse this string using Newtonsoft in C# and also using various javascript libraries including JSON.parse() but all have failed.

The actual response looks like a valid json object but it fails to get deserialised:

            {"err":201,"errMsg":"We cannot find your account.\uff01","data":[],"selfChanged":{}}

I am taking it that there are some special characters or that the actual response is in a format that any of my parsers cannot not deserialise out the box. I have attached various code samples in various languages including curl. I would really appreciate if someone could help deserialise the response object in C# or point me in the right direction.

            Picture changing when it shouldn't
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 11:53

I am trying to build a cinema app with flutter. The structure is as follows:

            • in each city there are a bunch of cinemas
            • in a cinema there are a bunch of showrooms(salle in french)
            • in a showroom(salle in french) there are five display sessions or projections, these projections are of the same film.

because the projections are of the same movie (a showroom displays the same movie in different time(e.g projections) by design), when I click on any of the projections in a showroom I should have the same posture of the same film, not a different posture in each projection.

However I get a different film posture in each projection, and I don't know what is causing this.

I am using a rest api that I created with Spring, and I am certain that the problem is not from my back-end because I am using it in an angular web app and it's working perfectly.

This is a layout of my application

this is what happened when I click on two projection of the same showroom( notice that the posture changes when it shouldn't.

and here is the code of the showroom page (salles-page.dart)

But when I try to create a docker-compose.yml file to build and run the image with docker-compose, it doesn't appear to expose the port at all.

please try using docker-compose run -p 8080:80 deploy_test as run command can not expose/publish ports by itself i.e. you need to specify it manually. For more information regarding same, please refer to its official documentation here.
