Increase the height of Dropdown menu when using mat-expansion-panel

I have ng-select wrapped inside mat-expansion-panel. I would like to be able to increase the height of the dropdown list to go beyond the height of mat-expansion-panel but I cannot get that effect. I have tried to play around with z-index but still not working.

I have an Angular 6 project I would like to upgrade to Angular 10, but I have read it’s best to do it one major version at a time, so I am trying to get it to 7.3 for now. I have followed all the steps on update.angular.io, but I am beginning to think it’s not a very complete guide. This question will be broken up into several sub-questions:

This is a question similar to this one, but it is for Bootstrap 4.

I am not able to add right-justified entries on the BS4 navbar that stay visible both when collapsed and not collapsed. I spent one full afternoon without success.

The part that you always want to keep visible needs to be separate from any of the collapsible parts. Then use the order-* classes to position the items as desired:

Install famfamfam-flags

We use Gulp to build the project, so if you want to re-build or customize this project, you'll need Gulp.
First, it takes PNG and GIF files from the src folder, and tidies them to the dist folder. Then it creates a spritesheet from the PNG images located in the src folder, and thus creates the sprite folder in dist. If, for example you just want fr and gg icons in a spritesheet, you just have to fork this project, point your CLI to the working directory, empty the src directory, except fr and gg icons in PNG format, and then run the gulp build task. You'll get the proper spritesheet and copies of the icons directly in the dist folder.
