It's been days and I still can't figure out why firebase.database is undefined.

The dependency @firebase/testing was the cause. It is deprecated and I had to replace it by @firebase/rules-unit-testing.

I also switched to Typescript and made the import as follow:

is there a way to make certain components (i,e s) self-scrolling on a webpage?

I'm designing a basic chat webpage, but whenever there are more messages than the screen can display without scrolling down, you have to scroll down to see newer messages. is there a way to fix this so that the webpage auto-scrolls (or some similar solution) when a new message is sent? any help would be greatly appreciated. here is my HTML:

After you add the new message call - $('#messages').scrollTop($('#messages').prop('scrollHeight'))
