QUESTION
I am trying to migrate to eclipse, Intellij etc... away from Jdeveloper! I need to use most of the existing framework like ADF, Weblogic, Oracle DB. Which makes it a shame I am trying to escape from JDEV
I have managed to run some ADF items on a java ADF project set up in eclipse, but it is far to cumbersome. I am essentially just rewriting the code, and I've failed to actually migrate the far larger project/ any of the individual screens.
Can anyone give me a more detailed or effective method to migrate a larger project in Jdeveloper using the above technologies into one of these IDEs?
Note: My end goal is to escape from the incredibly slow deployments, and constant freezing of Jdeveloper. I would happily accept methods for speeding up Jdeveloper as well, though that only postpones the future grave that JDev seems to offer it's clients.

Answered 2019-Sep-30 at 10:06A new version of JDeveloper and ADF have been released.
- Blog with a quick demo - https://blogs.oracle.com/jdeveloperpm/oracle-jdeveloper-and-oracle-adf-12214-now-available
- More new features - https://www.oracle.com/technologies/developer-tools/jdeveloper/12214nf.html
- List of fixed bugs - https://www.oracle.com/technologies/developer-tools/jdeveloper/12214rn.html
In the list of the fixed bugs it says
JDEVELOPER 12.2.1.3.0 IS VERY SLOW
Maybe the new version fixes the issue.
I haven't tried myself, yet.

Install Eclipse-JDE
To use the plug-in built using this procedure, you must install the required BlackBerry Java SDK separately.
You must build the full installer in a Windows development environment. The installer build scripts and custom Ant tasks are provided under the [Apache License Version 2.0](http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). 1) Build the full site as indicated in step 3.a in the procedure above. 2) Configure or review the "mount-point" property of the "mount-point-windows" profile in the root pom.xml to the folder that should contain 3rd party installer related artifacts: (default is /eJDE_install_artifacts ) The folder structure should look something like this: <pre><code> … Eclipse Platform/ mac/ indigo/ eclipse-SDK-3.7.2-macosx-cocoa.tar.gz (downloaded Eclipse 3.7.2 classic for Mac OSX archive).
You must build the full installer in a Windows development environment.
The installer build scripts and custom Ant tasks are provided under the [Apache License Version 2.0](http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0).
Alternatively to the default /eJDE_install_artifacts structure, other parameters could be specified, like -Djde.eclipse.bundles="path to Eclipse platform dir"<br/> If the build is successful, the installer <b>BlackBerry_JDE_PluginFull_2.0.0_indigo.exe</b> (for Windows) and <b>BlackBerry_JDE_PluginFull_2.0.0_indigo.zip</b> (for Mac) can be found at |eJDE repo root|/installer/target folder.
