QUESTION
I'm attempting to create an automated UI test suite for my React Native app with Expo. I have looked everywhere for good tutorials but when I get to the actual test writing portion, my tests never even run because of environment issues such as "Unexpected Identifier/Token" on import Icon from...
or other stupid issues that I cannot find any tutorials on how to fix them. I literally have spent a week trying to resolve these issues.
I am new to React Native and new to Jest/Detox/Expo
Here's my package.json
...ANSWER
Answered 2019-Feb-22 at 20:53Setting up Detox with an Expo app. You're probably best placed to start with a clean app that you haven't done anything with yet. You’ll want to make sure you have followed the basic setup (step 1) for getting detox to work on your machine

When trying to run the below code on CircleCI
...ANSWER
Answered 2018-Aug-11 at 10:56They said this in their documentation:
Note: To use certain services (like Google Cloud Datastore), you will also need to set the CircleCI $GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable to ${HOME}/gcloud-service-key.json.
Instead I set $GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS
in the CircleCI UI to /home/circleci/gcloud-service-key.json
and it worked.
I'm assuming this is because I was trying to reference an environment variable from the UI so ${HOME}
had not been set when it was setting this env varibale. Perhaps if setting this env variable in the config.yml
this would work.
QUESTION
I am experimenting with webpack and wanted to use, among others, the bootstrap4
and font-awesome
. All modules are recognized except these two.
The package.json
created after npm install
:
ANSWER
Answered 2017-Jul-27 at 21:28font-awesome
does not have any fields in package.json
that are recognised by webpack and there is also no index.js
in the package, therefore it can't be imported as usual. Presumably you want to use the CSS file, so you could import it like this.
QUESTION
I'm using Protobuf.js to build a node package, containing our protocol and offering encode and decode functionality to Proto Messages defined in this package. I would be fine with using .proto files (The loading of .proto files happens at runtime) , but since the module needs to be usable on the client side and I can't pack the .proto files to my resolved .js-file (built with browserify), I need to use a way, that enables the packaging in the build.js.
Enter JSON Descriptors.
...ANSWER
Answered 2017-Jun-02 at 12:50After browsing through the code, I found that you can not set required in a JSON Descriptor.
The correct way is to set
"rule": "repeated"
;
since a field is set with a Field Descriptor
