Error: Problem validating fields in app.json. Learn https://docs.expo.dev/workflow/configuration/ • Field: android.permissions[4] - should be string
            Asked 2021-Dec-27 at 07:15

I am using expo for my app and i randomly stated getting this error in my cli. This error doesn't stop the app from running. I searched around and haven't seen anyone with this error. Could it be due to the way my app.json/app.config file was setup? I do not want to remove the plugin sections because I need it. Thanks in advance

I had the exact same issue and stumbled upon this while searching for solutions. After some digging, it turns out you have to change all of the plugin permission values to strings.

I had the exact same issue. It was fixed by updating the expo-cli to the latest version (4.4.6), as well as updating NodeJS from 10.xx to the latest revision (14.17.0).

I encountered this error when upgraded react-native version to 0.63.0. I searched this error but according to other sources it is either problem in react-native-material-dropdown or in react-native-material-textfield. I have also tried to look for Animated.Text.propTypes in node_modules but it does not exist. Although i found it in main.bundle.js in ios folder. My Pod file is as following:

Anyone suffering from this nightmare it was react-native-material-button that was causing this issue. Turns out that vs code do not completely search node modules.
