To reduce the size of the app, firebase SDK (v9.0.0) became modular. You can no longer do the import statement like before on v8.

            You have two options.

            1. Use the backwards compatible way. (it will be later removed):

There are a number of things to look into.
If you are running Expo in the SDK then no need for cocoa pods just the most up-to-date version of the CLI tool.

Run expo --version to determine what version you are currently working with. Update if needed.

Adding a profile might be useful too. Along with checking your config. Configuring EAS Build with eas.json

eas build --platform ios --profile distribution

Also, be sure that all the apple certificates are active and connected to your Expo account for that project.

            Can't find variable: IDBIndex on firebase/react native(expo)
            Asked 2022-Mar-19 at 14:59

I am developing a RN app in Expo with firebase as backend. So far, the app only uses firebase auth and firestore and for whatever reason, I randomly started getting the error of ReferenceError: Can't find variable: IDBIndex. I adjusted my firebase config to suit the v9 standards instead of using the compat package. I ensured my app was not using Google Analytics. I have also downgraded to firebase@9.1.0 which matches up with the expo documentation and this other similar post. I have also git reverted into previous versions of the app (with earlier dependencies and code) when it was working but still got back the same error. When this occurred, I entirely reinstalled node and npm because I thought that was the only other possible reason this could be happening but that was to no avail as well (getting the same IDB error). I still think this is a firebase related issue, but I am pretty much all out of ideas as to what it could be.

            Here is my firebase config:

I've been getting the same issue, I've tried all the same things as you to no avail. I symbolicated the logs from firebase test lab and came up with this:

            Stacktrace

Generally I have no idea how all of these libraries work together, but are you using typesense with firestore? I wonder if your stack trace calls out the same files, but I can't find any smoking gun here. I'll keep updating this thread if I find something. (I would have commented but I don't have the rep yet)

Update: Looks like my build just fixed itself somehow, even submitting builds from this weekend that would constantly crash. So truly I'm not sure what happened but it may be resolved

After some more search arounds, found this is a known issue in react-native-reanimated. As their website points out

Please note that Reanimated 2 doesn't support remote debugging, only Flipper can be used for debugging.

Another github issue also pointed out this issue

This is expected, you can't use remote debugging with turbomodules (which Reanimated v2 is using). Check out Flipper to debug your app.

            https://docs.swmansion.com/react-native-reanimated/docs/#known-problems-and-limitations

            https://github.com/software-mansion/react-native-reanimated/issues/1990

Removing this library fixed the issue.

            1. Remove the react-native-reanimated dependency in package.json
            2. Remove related code in android's MainApplication.java
            3. yarn install or npm install
            4. Go to the ios folder and run pod install
            5. Go the the android folder and run ./gradlew clean
            6. Rebuild the app. yarn android and yarn ios

Another alternative is to use Flipper for debugging instead.

It's a React-native issue; the error is linked to the metro dependencies inside node_modules.

The EISDIR error is likely to be a misreported error due to a bug in metro that has been fixed in metro 0.65.

You can show warnnigs of log? Because i have the same problem and resolved with.

            Logs:

            • expo-app-loading - expected version: 1.1.2 - actual version installed: 1.3.0
            • react-native-screens - expected version: ~3.4.0 - actual version installed: 3.10.1

            I used the versions 1.1.2 and 3.4.0 in my package: "react-native-screens": "^3.4.0" to "react-native-screens": "3.4.0" "expo-app-loading": "^1.1.2" to "expo-app-loading": "1.1.2"

            Remove your node_modules, yarn.lock and package-lock.json

            Yarn install or npm install

            For me resolved.
