QUESTION
We are using stream ingestion from Event Hubs to Azure Data Explorer. The Documentation states the following:
The streaming ingestion operation completes in under 10 seconds, and your data is immediately available for query after completion.
I am also aware of the limitations such as
Streaming ingestion performance and capacity scales with increased VM and cluster sizes. The number of concurrent ingestion requests is limited to six per core. For example, for 16 core SKUs, such as D14 and L16, the maximal supported load is 96 concurrent ingestion requests. For two core SKUs, such as D11, the maximal supported load is 12 concurrent ingestion requests.
But we are currently experiencing ingestion latency of 5 minutes (as shown on the Azure Metrics) and see that data is actually available for quering 10 minutes after ingestion.
Our Dev Environment is the cheapest SKU Dev(No SLA)_Standard_D11_v2 but given that we only ingest ~5000 Events per day (per metric "Events Received") in this environment this latency is very high and not usable in the streaming scenario where we need to have the data available < 1 minute for queries.
Is this the latency we have to expect from the Dev Environment or are the any tweaks we can apply in order to achieve lower latency also in those environments? How will latency behave with a production environment loke Standard_D12_v2? Do we have to expect those high numbers there as well or is there a fundamental difference in behavior between Dev/test and Production Environments in this concern?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 08:34Did you follow the two steps needed to enable the streaming ingestion for the specific table, i.e. enabling streaming ingestion on the cluster and on the table?
In general, this is not expected, the Dev/Test cluster should exhibit the same behavior as the production cluster with the expected limitations around the size and scale of the operations, if you test it with a few events and see the same latency it means that something is wrong.
If you did follow these steps, and it still does not work please open a support ticket.

QUESTION
I'm using a BULK INSERT to load delimited .txt files into a staging table with 5 columns. The .txt files can sometimes contain errors and have more/less than 5 fields per line. If this happens, is it possible to detect it and cancel the entire BULK INSERT?
Each table column is of type VARCHAR. This was done because header (H01) and line (L0101, L0102, etc...) rows contain fields with different types. Because of this, setting MAXERRORS = 0 doesn't seem to be working as there are technically no syntax errors. As a result the transaction is committed, the catch block never activates and the rollback doesn't occur. Lines still get inserted into the table incorrectly shifted or bunched.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-09 at 16:17As many before have noted: BULK INSERT is fast, but not very flexible, especially to column inconsistencies.
When your input might have bad data (and technically, from a SQL standpoint that is what you are describing), you have to employ one or more of some different approaches:
- Pre-process and "clean" the data with an external program first, or
- BULK INSERT to a staging table with one big VARCHAR(MAX) column, and then parse and clean the data yourself with SQL before moving it into tables with your real columns, or
- Use CLR code/tricks to effectively to (1) and/or (2) above, or
- Write an external program to simultaneously clean/pre-process and SqlBulkCopy the data into your SQL Server (replacing BULK INSERT), or
- Use SSMS instead (still pretty hard to deal with bad/variable columns though)
I have done all of these at one time or another during my career, and they are all somewhat difficult and time-consuming (the work was time-consuming, their run-times were pretty good).
QUESTION
I'm currently working on a PHP project in which I need to merge 5 large arrays of arrays (around 16000 entries each) by a specific key value. With this I mean each array includes about 16000 entries, each being an array with key => value format, and I intend to merge all these arrays where the value for a given key matches. For example:

Answered 2021-Jun-11 at 18:15I agree with @Hans Kesting using Razor syntax would be best. Especially helpful would be to move away from DataSets and DataTabes and use models for your data. This would make iterating through your data and populating a table much easier with something like WebGrid. However, if none of this is possible what I have done in the past is:
create the HTML table string in a Helper method
pass the HTML string to a Controller action method
store the HTML string into the TempData object
access the TempData object and render the table to the view using:
@Html.Raw(TempData["html"])

QUESTION
I hope you guys are having a wonderful day.
I have set up a webhook in my woocommerce that sends JSON data to Google sheets. The webhook has been working great for months now, just today, I am having some trouble with it. I have tracked the issue to be in google sheets receiving the JSON data, but I don't know why this is happening.
Let me explain.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18G-yVDjYeccl6kznpZgSuRTysRMAu57pwY2oGf6-KWI/edit?usp=sharing
This is the google sheet, when it gets Woocommerce JSON data, it populates a new row.
The problem
Sometimes google sheets doesn't populate the row upon receiving a new order. The problem doesn't lie with woocommerce, because I have checked woocommerce with reqbin and the webhook fires with every order.
Furthermore, when I send requests from reqbin.com to my sheet, the sheet performs the operation successfully 5-6 out of 10 times. Other times it shows an error.
The Error
The error is due to google sheets not being able to parse JSON data, because the JSON data it receives 5 out of 10 times is not proper JSON data. Other 5 times, it is just as it should be. I have put a catch statement if the sheet is unable to parse JSON. Instead of appending new row with the parsed data, it appends the raw received data to the sheet.
It is clear now that there is some issue with google sheets handling that JSON data because when the same data is sent from reqbin.com to webhook.site, it is perfectly as it should be 10/10 times.
How to reproduce the issue
- Open this google sheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18G-yVDjYeccl6kznpZgSuRTysRMAu57pwY2oGf6-KWI/edit?usp=sharing
- Open reqbin.com and webhook.site, and send the following JSON from reqbin.com to webhook.site 10 times to see if any kind of error occurs.

- Now send the same data to the following google sheet to see if it appends the row correctly each time.

How do I solve the issue? Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.
Edit:
Instead of getting a full JSON body like mentioned above, the google sheets seems to be getting the following JSON.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-10 at 05:19I managed to solve the issue with some trial and error. For anyone facing the same issue in the future, here is what worked for me.
I was using e.postData.contents to get the JSON body but this seems to have stopped working, which was causing the JSON body to be empty. I tried e.postData.getDataAsString(); which seems to be working just fine and the issue has been resolved.
