Not sure how to turn this into a for-loop in R
            Asked 2021-May-20 at 12:40

I am looking for a more elegant way of coding this including for loops. I'd like to not need to index each column of the spreadsheet separately because eventually I'd like to have a much larger "tsf" matrix.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?

edit: the important part is that if treat = 0, then that row should = 0; if treat = 1, then that row should have a sequence of 0-5 that repeats

Make sure, that your Spyder is using the "base" anaconda environment.

            From: https://docs.spyder-ide.org/current/faq.html :
In the anaconda prompt: You should activate your conda environment (in your case you don't have to, since you use the "base" environment) and start spyder typing "spyder".

One thing, hard to understand at the beginning, is that you can have multiple python instances installed on your machine. Anaconda is a great tool to manage the different "environments" having different python versions installed with different package combinations.

In your case Spyder uses a different interpreter as in your anaconda prompt, where you installed the package. Here, it is explained how to check, which Python interpreter is used by Spyder: https://stackoverflow.com/a/54237704/2196531

            Short anwer : yes

Error 137 is thrown when your host runs out of memory.

"I am running on a 1 core 2G cloud server"

When you try to assign 8GB to the JVM, OOM-Killer says "no-no, f... no way", and kicks in sending a SIGKILL; This Killer is a proactive process that jumps in to save the system when its memory level goes too low, by killing the resource-abusive processes.

In this case, the abusive process (very abusive, indeed) is your java program, which is trying to allocate more than(*) 4 times the maximum avaliable memory in your host.

Since you have customized your log format, you have to build your own grok to match the log. You can use https://grokdebug.herokuapp.com/ to debug the pattern you're going to use and you can copy some patterns from https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-patterns-core/tree/master/patterns

VBA - Find / Replace to exclude if string is part of longer word
            Asked 2020-Nov-06 at 21:49

I am trying to search for 3 letter target words and replace them with corrected 3 letter words.

e.g. CHI - SHA as a single cell entry (with hyphen) to be replaced with "ORD -" etc.

There will be instances where the target word is part of a word pair within a cell, e.g. CHI - SHA.

The code below works to capture all of the cases but I realized that when the the cell is e.g. XIANCHI - SHA it would also correct the part "CHI -" resulting in XIANORD - SHA.

How can I limit the fndlist to skip the target letters if they are part of a longer word?

            Sample

            • CHI - (single cell entry) converts to ORD -
            • CHI - PVG (one cell) converts to ORD - PVG
            • XIANCHI - PVG converts to XIANORD - PVG (error)

If I use lookat:xlwhole the code would only catch the CHI - case but not the pair but if I use xlpart it will catch the pair CHI - PVG but also corrects any word it finds with that element.

            thanks for any help

Edit: I wanted to give you something a bit more complete. In the below code, I used a separate function that creates a map between before and after values. This cleans up the code because now all of these values are stored in one place (also easier to maintain). I use this object to then create the search pattern, since a regular expression can search for multiple patterns at once. Finally, I use the dictionary to return the replacement value. Try this revised code, and see if it better meets your use case.

I ran quick performance test to see if it performed better/worse than built-in VBA replace function. In my test, I used only three of the possibilities in my regular expression search/replace, and I ran a test against 103k rows. It performed equally as well as a built-in search and replace using only one value. The search and replace would have had to be re-run for each of the search values.

Let me know if this helps.

That's because you called .after firstly. And when you enter a incorrect area, Both of them will raise exception.

So the solution is to stop .after method(use .after_cancel()) each time you pressed the button:

            1) Assuming you would input a sequence to the LSTM (the normal use case):

It would not be the same since the LSTM returns a sequence (return_sequences=True), thereby not reducing the input dimensionality. The output shape is therefore (Batch, Sequence, Hid). This is being fed to the Convolution1D layer which performs convolution on the Sequence dimension, i.e. on (Sequence, Hid). So in effect, the purpose of the 1D Convolutions is to extract local 1D subsequences/patches after the LSTM.

If we had return_sequences=False, the LSTM would return the final state h_t. To ensure the same behavior as a Dense layer, you need a fully connected convolutional layer, i.e. a kernel size of Sequence length, and we need as many filters as we have Hid in the output shape. This would then make the 1D Convolution equivalent to a Dense layer.

            2) Assuming you do not input a sequence to the LSTM (your example):

            • In your example, the LSTM is used as a replacement for a Dense layer. It serves the same function, though it gives you a slightly different result as the gates do additional transformations (even though we have no sequence).

            • Since the Convolution is then performed on (Sequence, Hid) = (1, Hid), it is indeed operating per timestep. Since we have 128 inputs and 128 filters, it is fully connected and the kernel size is large enough to operate on the single element. This meets the above defined criteria for a 1D Convolution to be equivalent to a Dense layer, so you're correct.

As a side note, this type of architecture is something you would typically get with a Neural Architecture Search. The "replacements" used here are not really commonplace and not generally guaranteed to be better than the more established counterparts. In a lot of cases, using Reinforcement Learning or Evolutionary Algorithms can however yield slightly better accuracy using "untraditional" solutions since very small performance gains can just happen by chance and don't have to necessarily reflect back on the usefulness of the architecture.

            QUESTION

Text Services Framework failed to set global compartment value as VT_BSTR
            Asked 2020-Aug-12 at 06:01

I wrote a test application (.exe) for inter-process communication using TSF global compartment and the following code works correctly when the variant type is VT_I4, but for VT_BSTR the ITfCompartment::SetValue return S_FALSE and the OnChange callback is not fired on the text service (an IME).

The S_FALSE for ITfCompartment::SetValue is not even documented on MSDN and I guess that means the operation succeeded but has no effect.

Can anyone offer some ideas as to how to solve this problem? Thanks!

The short answer is that you can only store integers in global compartments. Marshaling a string or object is not possible given how TSF global compartments work (it runs below the COM marshaling layer).

You can download it from GitHub.
PHP requires the Visual C runtime (CRT). The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 is suitable for all these PHP versions, see visualstudio.microsoft.com. You MUST download the x86 CRT for PHP x86 builds and the x64 CRT for PHP x64 builds. The CRT installer supports the /quiet and /norestart command-line switches, so you can also script it.
