kandi X-RAY | pdblib Summary

pdblib is a Python library. pdblib has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Strong Copyleft License and it has low support. However pdblib build file is not available. You can download it from GitHub.

pdblib is a library for reading Windows Program Database (.pdb) files created when compiling code. There is an existing python library to parse PDB files however I found it was very slow to load large pdb files. It is also quite abstract because it uses a generic parsing engine to do most of the work. This library directly uses python's struct library to parse the data so there is no abstraction layer. In my tests it is a few times faster than pdbparse to load a large pdb file. This most likely will not get updated, but I put it here so that others can build upon it if they so wish.

You can use pdblib like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.
