VBA loop to copy 100 individual rows one at a time into a single row to run solver
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 23:40

I am trying to write a macro that will copy from a list of 100 rows (9 cells each) into a single row, then run solver on it, and then copy the values to another spot in the workbook.

The below code works for one line, but everything that i have found online appears to be for paste sequential rows, not copying them and pasting them into the same row to be operated on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks

Rust futures / async - await strange behavior
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 20:06

I am new to rust and I was reading up on using futures and async / await in rust, and built a simple tcp server using it. I then decided to write a quick benchmark, by sending requests to the server at a constant rate, but I am having some strange issues.

The below code should send a request every 0.001 seconds, and it does, except the program reports strange run times. This is the output:

You are not measuring the elapsed time correctly:

            1. total_send_time measures the duration of the spawn() call, but as the actual task is executed asynchronously, start_in.elapsed() does not give you any information about how much time the task actually takes.

            2. The ran in time, as measured by start.elapsed() is also not useful at all. As you are using blocking sleep operation, you are just measuring how much time your app has spent in the std::thread::sleep()

            3. Last but not least, your time_to_sleep calculation is completely incorrect, because of the issue mentioned in point 1.

os.mkdir() creates a directory, wheras os.mknod() creates a new filesystem node (file), so you should change the applicable function calls to that.

Alternatively, (due to os.mknod() not being great cross-platform), you can open a file for writing then immediately close it again, thus creating a blank file:

array.append() is a function that returns a None value. So in the first recursive call, you pass a None value instead of the appended array as you'd want. Here's a solution:

If this isn't going to throw an exception then I don't know what is going to.

This is caused by using blocking code within Netty's event loop.

The code over here is making a blocking request 20 times in a row which cause the machine to break. I don't know what data is coming from the client but I would never recommend to do it in this manner.

Barring the undefined behavior which can be easily be fixed, you're seeing the effect of denormal numbers. They're extremely slow (see Why does changing 0.1f to 0 slow down performance by 10x?) so in modern FPUs there are usually denormals-are-zero (DAZ) and flush-to-zero (FTZ) flags to control the denormal behavior. When DAZ is set the denormals will compare equal to zero which is what you observed

Currently you'll need platform-specific code to disable it. Here's how it's done in x86:

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 09:02

I believe your goal as follows.

            • You want to set the conditional format rules for each range with each formula.
            • The range is created by the for loop of for (let i = 3; i < 25; i++) {,,,}.
            • The formula is created by const formula = '=sum($' + columnStart[z] + '6:$' + columnEnd[z + 6] + '6)>=40';.
            Modification points:
            • When I saw your script, it seems that range of Logger.log(range) is the string value. But when setRanges(range) is used, range is required to be the Range object. I think that this might be the reason of your issue.
            • And, in your situation, how about the following flow?
              1. Put each range to an array of rules of rules = sheet.getConditionalFormatRules().
                • For this, in my answer, I used RangeList.
              2. Use rules with sheet.setConditionalFormatRules(rules) put outside of the loop.

When above points are reflected to your script, it becomes as follows.

            Modified script:

You're trying to get a new string as an input in every iteration of the while loop which is probably not what you want.

One thing you can do is create a different while loop and use fscanf() until the end of file is reached and compare each string gotten from the file with the string that you want to find, also don't forget to move the file position pointer to the beginning of the file after the end of file is reached.

R - Removing rows from one table based on unique combination from another table
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 17:19

I have two tables. Table A - Base table with full data. Table B - Contains grouped data by the combination (Origin- Destination- Carrier- Class). It has only those combinations which have both Premium and Economy class and also greater than 100 passengers each.

My objective is to only include those rows in Table A which pertain to combinations in Table B. Sample tables are below -

            Table A

ItinID Origin Destination Carrier Class Fare 1 AB BC Delta Econ 100 2 AB BC Delta Premium 500 3 CD DE American Econ 200 4 EF FG United Econ 200 5 AB BC Delta Econ 150 6 AB BC Delta Premium 700

            Table B

Origin Destination Carrier Class AB BC Delta Econ AB BC Delta Premium

The output table that I need is-

ItinID Origin Destination Carrier Class Fare 1 AB BC Delta Econ 100 2 AB BC Delta Premium 500 5 AB BC Delta Econ 150 6 AB BC Delta Premium 700

Also, is there a way to skip making Table B altogether and directly running operation on Table A to get the output table?
