Answered 2021-Nov-11 at 08:51you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Build Tools. Just install the suggested packages, restart your computer, and try your program again. I can't remember exactly what are the packages to install, but the recommended few should be enough.

I'm trying to incorporate google-cloud-tasks
Python client within my fastapi app. But it's giving me an import error like this:
ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-09 at 17:35After doing some more research online I realized that installation of some packages is missed due to some existing packages. This issue helped me realize I need to reorder the position of google-cloud-tasks
in my requirements.txt. So what I did was pretty simple, created a new virtualenv installed google-cloud-tasks
as my first package and then installed everything else and finally the problem is solved.
Long story short the issue is the order in which packages are installed and that's why some packages are getting missed.
QUESTION
I'm unable to get discord.py installed on a separate venv on my linux VM. I'll run through exactly what's happening. Running python 3.7. I have a discord boy located on /home/username/mybot/discboy.py
. I created a new venv inside of the script directory - python3 -m venv /home/username/mybot/venv
. Confirmed that a new "venv" directory is in the /mybot/ directory. I activated the venv by source /home/username/mybot/venv/bin/activate
. Confirmed as my PATH changed to (venv) /home/...
. I then installed discord.py python3 -m pip install -U discord.py
. I confirmed that it installed via pip3 list
. I then started the bot up. Here is the trace code error `

I wrote a telegram bot on the aiogram framework. The bot worked fine for over a week, with no problems. The customer started complaining about the bot freezing. ...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-05 at 22:09The problem is that time on your host machine is different from world time.
I have noticed that Google Cloud compute engine doesn't have any time synchronization services. That explains why the bot works well for some time, and then he starts catching tracebacks.

I recently successfully deployed a Heroku app(view log below for details), but when I try to access my app through a browser, it returns with An error occurred in the application and your page could not be served. If you are the application owner, check your logs for details. You can do this from the Heroku CLI with the command heroku logs --tail

...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Jan-03 at 16:25Your application is a worker (Procfile declares types -> worker
) so it does respond to HTTP requests.
Change to web
and make sure you bind the PORT
provided by Heroku.
BTW BOTs can run as workers (without dealing with incoming requests) if they poll the server for messages/updates. This is a viable option too (keep it as worker) but ensure the BOT logs what it does at startup.
QUESTION
I'm trying to run Python Faust from Docker.
Based on this documentation: https://faust.readthedocs.io/en/latest/userguide/installation.html
I created a simple Docker file:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-27 at 23:37Read the error message, where it is clearly stated you are missing a header file:
fatal error: rocksdb/slice.h: No such file or directory 705 | #include "rocksdb/slice.h" | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ compilation terminated. error: command '/usr/bin/gcc' failed with exit code 1
Accordingly, you'll need to build and install RocksDB. This is separate from the installation of faust[rocksdb]
with pip. That simply installs python-rocksdb
, the Python interface to the underlying libraries.
There is even a (third-party) RocksDB docker image based on Python 3.7 Slim.
You could use that directly or take some tricks from the Dockerfile for that image.

I'm working on CI for my Python + Django project. I have to use the python:3.9-alpine
image. A weird error is popping in my CI pipelines:
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-05 at 17:35What is the reason of my error?
Did you read my previous answer to a similar question of yours? The last part warns about certain combinations of Alpine + Python and this seems to be happening right now.
I tried to replace psycopg2 with psycopg2-binary but have the same error
The problem here might be a python library that has dependencies on gcc
, which is not shipped on alpine by default.
Try replacing this:

Install yarl
You can use yarl like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.
