for this purpose, it would be an internal implementation detail of the Producer

It's also important to emphasize that a Producer
, even when it's operating in the Identity
base monad without any "effects" at its disposal, isn't some sort of pure function that would keep producing the same value over and over without monadic help. A Producer

I'm working on an application where datasets have programmatically generated names and are frequently created and destroyed by users. I want to graph these datasets within the application using D3.js.
My datasets are stored like this:
Wavelength Transducer Output 1 Transducer Output 2 Transducer Output 3 1 19 21 23 3 23 20 21 5 33 23 19 7 33 24 45 etc.. etc.. etc.. etc..Where wavelength should be mapped along the x axis, and magnitude mapped along the y axis, with an individual line for each set of magnitudes.
I'm struggling to get my head around how one should pass such data into D3.js. Each tutorial I read uses different data formats and different code. I have read the documentation, but it hasn't helped me much in learning how to format my data for D3 either.
What's the correct way to map these datasets onto a graph from within a script? At the moment I'm trying to use d3.csvParse(data)
, but am unsure where to go from there. I suspect I may be formatting my data awkwardly but am not sure.

Once I realised that I needed to create an array which represented every point I want drawn things got a lot easier. I created an object with three properties that described a single data point.
Each object has a wavelength
, magnitude
, and a name
.
wavelength
is the datapoint's position on the x axis, magnitude
is its position on the y axis, and name
allows me to differentiate between the different datasets.

I have been trying to implement it in a functional approach but cannot find a way of dealing with 2 arrays (2 inputs) as pipelines, compositions, transducers all accept unary functions.
I Even thought of having two pipelines one for processing the comments and the other for posts and joining their workflows at the end but couldn't implement it.
All I could come up with is mapping the comments themselves to be an array of objects where it has postId
as a number that represents each post and comments

I think of transducers as a way of combining the steps of a composed function on sequences of values so that you can iterate the sequence only once.
average
makes no sense here. To take an average you need the whole collection.
So you can transduce the filtering and mapping of the values. But you will absolutely need to then do the averaging separately. Note that filter
then map
is a common enough pattern that there are plenty of filterMap
functions around. Ramda doesn't have one, but this would do fine:

- It is very unusual to have a channel with a buffer size of 1 million. I would not expect benchmarks derived from such usage to have much applicability to real-world programs. Just use a buffer size of 1. This is plenty for this application to succeed, and more closely mirrors real-world usage.
- You don't need to pick such a gigantic
n
. If your function runs more quickly, criterium can take more samples, getting a more accurate estimate of its average time. n=100 is plenty.
