QUESTION
I've spent hours researching this small problem now, but clearly I wasn't able to figure out how to get my packages to work the way I want them to.
Here's an extract from my project structure:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 15:10Shouldn't I be able to import the functions from code.py within testing.ipynb?
It depends from where you start the script. If you start it from the top level directory of both folders then it should work.
toplevel/ package/ init.py code.py notebooks/ testing.ipynb
For instance, with the above directory structure, launch testing.ipynb
with toplevel
being your working directory.

Although I am very rusty on my VBA, I have saved sheets to new workbooks many times before. This code is failing with the error code "Method 'SaveAs' of object '_Workbook' failed"
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 13:29I had the exact same issue this morning in my own code. ActiveWorkbook for some reason did not yield an object and stayed empty. I got arround the problem by specificing the workbook manually.

QUESTION
I am modeling a Time-constrained CVRP. The problem is to minimize the total travel time (not including the package dropping time) subject to vehicle (delivery) capacity and total time spent (per vehicle) constraints. The package dropping time refers to an additional time to be spent at each node, and the total time spent equals to the travel time plus this additional time. I have the below model that works for a single vehicle-type case. I would like to introduce two-vehicle type concept in there, meaning that I have a set of V1
type vehicles and another set of V2
type vehicles. The only difference of the vehicle-types is the per time cost of travel. Let x
denote the per time unit cost of travel by V1
, and y
denote the per time unit travel cost of V2
. How can I design the model so that it incorporates this additional aspect?
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-13 at 13:34Simply register two transits callbacks (i.e. one per vehicle type)
Then use the overload of AddDimension() to pass an array of registered transit callback index.
QUESTION
I have spent some hours playing with Electron and I have observed that it consistently takes more than 2.5 seconds to draw a trivial html file to the screen. The timeline is roughly as follows:
- 60 ms: app
ready
event is triggered; we create a window usingnew BrowserWindow()
- 170 ms: a blank window appears on the screen
- 2800 ms: the window shows the specified HTML
I have set up a repository with my code, which is derived from Electron's quick start docs.
Regarding my machine, I am running Windows 10 on a ThinkPad T460 from 2016 with a SSD and enough memory.
QuestionsShipping an application that shows a blank window for so long upon startup is a no-go for me. I assume most people developing Electron apps think similarly. Hence my first question: am I doing something wrong? Or is this the expected loading time for a trivial Electron app?
Assuming this is normal behavior, what is the common way to deal with this problem? Some ideas come to mind:
- Asking Electron to show a splash screen: unless there is specific built-in functionality for this, it seems like a no-go, since the splash screen itself would be shown only after 2.5 seconds.
- Hide the app's window until it is rendered (using the
ready-to-show
event), so no blank window is shown. This isn't ideal, since it means that the user doesn't get any feedback whatsoever that the application is actually loading. - Create a wrapper application (using native code) that displays a splash screen, launches electron and hides itself once the electron window is shown. Kind of defeats the purpose of using Electron in the first place, because you end up writing native code and adding accidental complexity.
- Setting the background color of the window to something resembling your app, as suggested by the docs. This just doesn't look very well.
Given this must be a common problem, I hope standard solutions have been found by the community. I'd be glad if someone can point me in the right direction.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 02:38What if you hid your window until it's ready to show, then show your window, and while your window's hidden show a loading spinner.
First only show your main window until after it's ready:
QUESTION
I have old django project and new django project. I created dump file from database of old django. And also I made changes in tables and created new tables.
Now I want to load that dump file to my new django app. I am facing errors when I firstly migrate then restore data or firstly restore then migrate.. When I do migration first, it says tables already exist.
When I do restore first , it says django.db.utils.ProgrammingError: relation "django_content_type" already exists
I use migrate --fake
error goes but new tables are not created in database.
I spent 3-4 days but could not succeed.
Please, help me if you can.
PS: my database is postgresql
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 07:00This is not straightforward and will need some manual interventions and it depends on what do you want to do in the future
If the tables that already exist in the database have a stable design and won't be changed or you can do the changes manually using SQL statements then set
managed = False
to the models' meta, this will make Django skip making migrations for those modelsIf you want to keep the power of migration in the new project for all models then this will more complex
- Delete all your migrations
- You need to make your models equivalent to your database, you can set
managed=False
for new models likeUsers
- Run
python manage.py makemigrations
, this will create the structure of the initial database. - Fake running the migrations
python manage.py migrate --fake
- Dump the records of django_migrations table
- Create a new empty migration (with --empty) and add the SQL statements of the
django_migrations
table to it usingmigrations.RunSQL()
- now fake again so you skip that new migration.
- Now you are ready to use migrations as usual.
When installing new database, you will just need to run python manage.py migrate
QUESTION
How to remove VIM (completely) and change my mac command line editor to sublime?
I've spent the last three hours reading the same links on "how to remove VIM" only to get "how to remove MacVIM and reinstall it fresh" Or "How to remove Vim so I can reinstall it on Ubuntu"
My old laptop was fortunate to have a friend remove it but my new machine still has it installed.
I wish VIM would die in "words redacted to excessive profanity" dumpster fire while a hobo "words redacted to excessive profanity" to put out the fire
I've lost way too many hours trying to learn that outdated neckbeard elvish piece of UX trash so I want it gone. No, I'm not touching emacs.
Please tell me there is a way I can switch to sublime or am I permanently cursed to have this confusing black screen of death pop up when I try to git push or git tag stuff?
My original goal was to tag a git and push it but vim comes up and I can't figure out how to speak elvish.
I've been using PyCharm for a few years and love the interface but I need to dig deeper and a TDD Django book for class uses the terminal, it wants me to git -a "comments" so I need your advice.
So now I can't learn TDD Django because vim, MacVim and eMacs users flood the internet but I can't remove it nor figure out how to work it.
I've tried brew uninstall macvim
which doesn't work because I have vim not macvim
I also tried sudo uninstall vim
no luck as this is zsh mac not ubuntu
I tried brew uninstall vim
to get No available formula or cask with the name "vim"
I've searched SO five times and keep getting the same links.
Alternates I've tried
brew uninstall ruby vim
per this post https://superuser.com/questions/1096438/brew-upgrade-broke-vim-on-os-x-dyld-library-not-loaded I tried, no luck.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 21:41You don't have to remove Vim from your machine. Instead, tell your system and your tools to use Sublime Text as default editor. After you have followed that tutorial, which I must point out is part of Sublime Text's documentation, you should have a system-wide subl
command that you can use instead of vim
. For that, you need to add those lines to your shell configuration file:

(let timeoutId;) variable on global scope to keep track of the setTimeout.
I have a useEffect hook with an if statement that checks the value of showForm

QUESTION
I'm experienced with Pandas but stumbled upon a problem that I can't seem to figure out.
I have a large dataset ((40,000, 16)) and I am trying to group it by a specific column ("group_name" for this matter) and then for each group apply the following rules so it'd merge into one row per group:
- x1, x2, x3 are the "important" columns, if one row has less nulls than the others, take it. (see example with row D)
- If there are conflicts in any column, it's arbitrary and we can pick whatever.
- Combine the nulls on the important fields (x1, x2, x3), see example with row A.
Here is an example with 6 rows that should turn into 4 groups (aka 4 rows).
So far I have
groups = df.groupby['group_name']
I tried many other solutions such as summing each group, applying a transformation, aggregating by each 'important' column, merging on each 'important' column and more. Each solution brought it's own problems so I'm offering this question here without limiting people to a certain way.
Also, I spent nearly two days combining different solutions from other questions but none has seem to work. Perhaps I've missed something.
- Please note that since this is a large dataset, I'd very much like to avoid using
for
loop on each group since efficiency is something to consider here.
I hope I explained everything properly, please let me know if something is unclear.
Code to re-create the dataframe (thanks to @Henry Ecker from the first answer):
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-13 at 16:35Try with groupby aggregate
'first' to get the first (valid) value from every column for each group_name
