Tab & Navigation Bar changes after upgrading to XCode 13 (& iOS 15)
            Asked 2022-Mar-22 at 05:47

I have an iOS app, since upgrading to Xcode 13, I have noticed some peculiar changes to Tab and Navigation bars. In Xcode 13, there's now this black area on the tab and nav bars and on launching the app, the tab bar is now black as well as the navigation bar. Weird enough, if the view has a scroll or tableview, if I scroll up, the bottom tab bar regains its white color and if I scroll down, the navigation bar regains its white color.

N:B: I already forced light theme from iOS 13 and above:

            Asked 2022-Feb-07 at 22:16

We're having some strange issue with our app and/or Testflight since a few days ago: our app runs fine on simulator and devices (iOS 12, iOS 14 & iOS 15) when run from Xcode, but it crashed at launch when we archive and distribute it via Testflight for iOS 14 and below, but NOT for iOS 15 (we haven't tried to actually release to the AppStore). The app was working perfectly fine on iOS 12+ until then, on Testflight or otherwise. No crash log is ever generated by these crashes (either on Crashlytics, or Organizer, or even in the device crash logs), and what's more mysterious is that when re-archiving past versions of the code that had no issues 3 weeks ago and are live on the app store, we are now getting the crashes. We've dug into the device logs to try and get some more info, and we could find

That window is for downloading simulators (for past SDKs). You already have all the current iOS 15 simulators, listed in the Devices and Simulators window. Just switch to the Simulators pane in that window and have at it. Start by asking to create a simulator for a recent device, such as an iPhone 13; it is an iOS 15 simulator.

Convert GPS Coordinates to Match Custom 2d outdoor layout Image
            Asked 2022-Jan-17 at 04:19

I don't know if this is possible, but I am trying to take the image of a custom outdoor football field layout and have the players' GPS coordinates correspond to the image xand y position. This way, it can be viewed via the app to show the players' current location on the field as a sort of live tracking.

I have also looked into this Convert GPS coordinates to coordinate plane. The problem is that I don't know if this would work and wanted to confirm beforehand. The image provided in the post was for indoor location, and it was from 11 years ago.

I used Location and Google Maps packages for flutter. The player's latitude and longitude correspond to the actual latitude and longitude that the simulator in the android studio shows when tested.

The layout in question and a close comparison to the result I am looking for.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated highly, and thanks in advance for all the help.

            Edit:

After looking more at the matter I tried the answer of this post GPS Conversion - pixel coords to GPS coords, but it wasn't working as intended. I took some points on the image and the correspond coordinates, and followed the same logic that the answer used, but reversed it to give me the actual image X, Ypositions.

First of All, Yes you can do this with high accuracy if the GPS coordinates are accurate.

Second, the main problem is rotation if the field are straight with lat lng lines this would be easy and straightforward (no bun intended).

The easy way is to convert coordinate to rotated image similar to the real field then rotated every X,Y point to the new straight image. (see the image below)

Here is how to rotate x,y knowing the angel:

            Xcode log "Writing analzed variants"
            Asked 2022-Jan-13 at 17:02

Running Xcode 13 I see the following log when launching my iOS app in the Simulator:

            Writing analzed variants.

Note that this is, hopefully, a misspelling of the log:

            Writing analyzed variants.

What is causing this log noise? Is something in my code triggering it?

How can I hide this "Writing analzed variants." Xcode log?

            ANSWER

            Answered 2022-Jan-13 at 17:02

According to Quinn “The Eskimo!” at Apple Developer Technical Support, this message is Xcode log noise and can be ignored.

An Apple bug report should be filed to help flag and silence the log.

It’s important to keep an eye on log messages and fix any obvious problems they call out. However, if you see a log message that’s not obviously your fault, it could just be log noise.

There are two criteria you should apply here:

            • Is the log message associated with a specific failure? That is, when you see the log message, do you also see other problems?
            • Is the log message written in terms you understand? That is, does it reference APIs or data that you’re using?

If the answer to both of these questions is “No”, it’s reasonable to conclude that the log message is just noise and you can ignore it. If you find it to be particularly irksome, file a bug report requesting that it be silenced.

Is this a change in iOS 15?

Yes and no. There is indeed a change in iOS 15, but the reason for the problem you're experiencing is a change in Xcode 13.

The change in iOS 15 is that there's a whole new way of configuring a button. This starts with giving the button one of four new iOS 15 types: Plain, Gray, Tinted, and Filled. If you set your button to have any of those types, you are opting in to the new behavior.

The problem you're seeing is because, in Xcode 13, when you make a button in the storyboard, it does give the button one of those types: Plain. So you have opted into the new dispensation without knowing it!

The solution, if you want the old behavior, is to change the Style pop-up menu (in the Attributes inspector) from Plain to Default. Now you have an old-style button and it will behave in the way you're accustomed to.

(Of course, in the long run, you're going to want to adopt the new dispensation. I'm just explaining the apparent change in behavior.)

DevTools is no longer being shipped via pub and is now part of the Dart SDK. 2.9.2 was published unintentionally this morning and has since been retracted.

How were you starting DevTools? You might want to file an issue on the DevTools repository if you're still having issues and I (@bkonyi) can help you out further there.

The simulator has been tested on a variety of hardware configurations, and while Gazebo and ROS dependencies work with bare minimum hardware requirements, the essence of an autonomous racing simulator requires a real-time factor of at-least 0.85. For this reason, we suggest that your local machine meet the requirements stated in the following table. The simulator itself depends on libraries, packages and objects from ROS and Gazebo. The current version of the simulator uses ROS Melodic and Gazebo 9; along with certain other libraries and their python bindings. Before proceeding with the installation steps in this document, check if your local machine already has the full-desktop version of ROS Melodic installed. If not, follow the instructions provided in this link. When you get to section 1.4 of the ROS installation tutorial, choose the first option: ros-melodic-desktop-full. Your local machine will now have the basic dependencies installed. The next steps of the installation tutorial are critical and must be followed in the shown sequence.
