How to write EOF markers on Magnetic Tape - Python
            Asked 2020-Aug-02 at 08:02

I have searched a great deal on the web and I am unable to find a way to write an EOF marker on a magnetic tape in Python.

I have the below code (using Python via fcntl.ioctl) which writes records but after each os.write it does not write an EOF but keeps the records on a single file. Essentially I would like to split those records into files with EOF markers in between?

            Code:

Ok so after reading through the mtio.h man pages I worked it out and hopefully it can be of some help to others.

Passing superclasses into a method where a subclass is needed
            Asked 2017-Mar-03 at 17:10

Ok, while I tried to find a title that explains the problem I probably have to expand on it.

Recently I implemented a small program that will be used to control a tape library. Knowing it had to work with multiple different types of tape library so the following design was developed.

Right now, the only fully supported way of deploying Tape Drive is via Docker container. The image is available through GitLab Container Registry, and in the hack/docker/ directory you will find an example docker-compose.yml file for the real out-of-the-box experience. Tape Drive supports PostgreSQL as its database back-end. Non-dockerized deployment is absolutely possible, as Tape Drive is basically just a Django application.
Poetry is used for dependency management of Tape Drive. Just clone the repo and setup the virtualenv:.
