How to parse a sitemap index that has compressed links
            Asked 2022-Apr-01 at 14:32

I've made a program that reads the /robots.txt and the /sitemap.xml of a page and substracts the available sitemaps and stores them on the siteMapsUnsorted list. Once there I use crawler-commons library to analyze if the links are SiteMaps or SiteMapIndexes (cluster of SiteMaps).

When I use it on a normal siteMapIndex it works, the problem occurs in some cases where bigger sites have the list of SiteMapIndexes on a compressed format, e.g:

I've created sitemap file using the public routes in my site, but I'm not sure if we need to include private routes. I am building a website using GatsbyJs, and want to setup a proper sitemap using gatsby-plugin-sitemap, however i am strugling to understand what the following line of code does so i can try and customize de code to do what I need, which is integrate the pages and blog posts on the sitemap, and adding a proper lastmod when applicable. I am breaking my head but cannot get the last part to work, that is, adding lastmod when it is a blog post.

            Vulnerabilities

            No vulnerabilities reported

            Install django-sitemap-generate

            Working example is in testproject.testapp.
Add sitemap_generate application to installed apps in django settings: ```python INSTALLED_APPS.append(sitemap_generate) ```
            Add a reference to sitemap mapping to django settings: ```python SITEMAP_MAPPING = testproject.testapp.urls.sitemaps ```
Specify name of the sitemap index url. If you have urlpatterns like example above, you can write: ```python SITEMAP_INDEX_NAME = sitemap-index ``` default: 'sitemap-index'
Specify name of the view.sitemap view. If you have urlpatterns like example above, you can write: ```python SITEMAPS_VIEW_NAME = django.contrib.sitemaps.views.sitemap ``` default: 'django.contrib.sitemaps.views.sitemap'
Set media path to store sitemaps under ```python SITEMAP_MEDIA_PATH = sitemaps ``` default: 'sitemaps'
Also you may need to setup forwarded protocol handling in django settings: ```python SECURE_PROXY_SSL_HEADER = (HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO, https) ```
Note that django paginates sitemap with p query parameter, but corresponding sitemap files are named sitemap-video.xml, sitemap-video-2.xml and so on. You’ll need to configure some "rewrites".
            Optional. Change storage for generated sitemaps ```python SITEMAP_STORAGE = custom_storage ``` default: django.core.files.storage.default_storage
