css positioning problem with hover pseudo class
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 01:41

I'm trying to design a simple page for practicing with just html and css. I used a hover pseudo class for the croissant image. It works but when I hover the mouse over the croissant the coffee cup image will move to right a little(almost 50 or 100 pixels) and when I hover off of the croissant the coffee cup will back in its position before. meanwhile I'm new in web design and just start learning few days. here's my code:

            In details:

            1. relative
              ...
if you do give it some other positioning attribute, say, top: 10px;, it will shift its position 10 pixels down from where it would normally be.
              ...
            2. absolute
              ...
use the positioning attributes top, left, bottom, and right to set the location. Remember that these values will be relative to the next parent element with relative (or absolute) positioning. If there is no such parent, it will default all the way back up to the element itself meaning it will be placed relative to the page itself

Assign Python variables from Excel spreadsheet
            Asked 2021-Jun-11 at 10:27

I want to create a Python script to have my wallpaper changed based on some specific times (sunset and sunrise to be more precise), with 2 pictures alternating between night and day.

For the wallpaper change part I've managed to put something together which kind of works, but now I've hit an wall and I don't know which way to go.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with 3 columns (day_of_year -containing dates-, sunrise -containing time-, sunset -containing time-), and I want to have 2 variables created in Python (sunrise_today and sunset_today) which will bring me from the spreadsheet the corresponding values for today. In Excel environment this would be called a VLOOKUP using TODAY() as key.

This is pretty much what I want:

            Javascript text animation not triggering
            Asked 2021-Jun-03 at 15:09

I have a Bootstrap 5 carousel with two lines of caption per slide. Each time right before the slide changes, I want the old top caption to move up and fade out, and the old bottom caption to move down and fade out. Then on the next slide, the new top caption should move down into place and fade in and the new bottom caption should move up into place and fade in.

I'm a novice coder and I'm doing this as an excercise. You can see the code I've written for this below, or in this CodePen. I've tried it two ways, the second method is commented in the JS section in CodePen.

I've also added a responsive section to the CSS so you can kind of see what I want to happen: the animation is triggered at a window width of 600px.

The same animation doesn't trigger when the slides change, though. Why not? How can I make it better?

You are mixing jQuery libraries in your pen, as well as mixing vanilla js with jQuery, just stick to one, I'd suggest vanilla.

I did not go your styles entirely to find out which class it uses to handle that bottom effect, which you will have to update, but the top element is working.

            Also unlike using jQuery's $ to select elements, when using vanilla js const TopCap = document.querySelector (".carousel-caption"); and have several elements as in each slide, you would have to loop through them and select them all as follow: const TopCap = document.querySelectorAll (".carousel-caption");

Combining start, stop button of my stopwatch code - Flutter
            Asked 2021-May-29 at 10:25

I would like to combine the start stop button into one. I have broken my head trying to but still have no idea how to do so.

This app is meant for taking out the time to apply in a physics formula. This app already exists for the apple play store, but lately i have been getting a ton of feedback to combine the start and stop buttons for the stopwatch.

I have tried updating the UI to show the same button and change the text the second the user presses the start button, however i am enable to know which and what command to use to actually combine the 2 buttons.

If anybody could help i would be really grateful.

Is there a way to select an unselect multiple buttons with hover effect?
            Asked 2021-May-27 at 02:04

I am making a sort of chatbot in HTML, CSS, and javascript with the website here > https://chatroombot.n8thedev.repl.co/

            If you click the menu button you will find a page to change the background, so far hovering over the 27 different buttons creates a border inside the button that is somewhat transparent. I attempted to make a click effect where it makes the clicked button border darker (higher alpha value). The issue I ran into was when I cleared the other borders when you click on the button. EX: if (Click button 1) { border: none for button 1,2,3... }

But when I tried to do that the hover effect didn't work anymore because it cleared the button's border permanently.

I am here for suggestions on a solution.

You should avoid using inline style as much as possible. Practically all styling can be done in CSS So instead of removing the border from all other boxes, you could add another class (i.e active) to the clicked box:

Okay so the reason this error is weird is that it wasn't there till i added bluetooth functionality to my project. If i can't resolve this i might have to make my app from scratch an as a flutter beginner, it took me weeks to get this far. let me just describe my app: It is a health app paired with a wearable band. After login, the user is prompted to connect to a device and once they connect, HomeScreen() is returned which shows the temp and pulse data sent from arduino through bluetooth. For now, pulse is hardcoded but temp is sent from sensor to app, and updated to firestore then retrieved and displayed. So the app has both a user and a caretaker interface.

            Answered 2021-May-21 at 14:43

While using Navigator.of(context), Flutter goes through the ancestors in the widget tree to find the nearest Navigator.

Now, you actually don't spcifically provide any Navigator widget in the tree, so where is your Navigator coming from ?

            That's the MaterialApp.

Now, you have your main MaterialApp at the root.

But if you check your btInit widget, you have declared another MaterialApp in it. So when you call, pushNamed('todoscreen'), it is actually getting a hold of the Navigator from the MaterialApp of your btInit widget and not the main one.

Since, you only defined onGenerateRoute on the main MaterialApp, it is unable to resolve a request for the todoscreen route name.

Remove the MaterialApp inside your btInit widget and this should be resolved.
