            Install pyKY040

You can install using 'pip install pyKY040' or download it from GitHub, PyPI.
You can use pyKY040 like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.

            Support

Initializes the module with the specified encoder pins. Initializes the module with the specified encoder device. Read more. Requirement: pip install pyky040[device]. Setup the behavior of the module. All of the following keyword arguments are optional. Note: better keep using ints and not floats for more precise results. Starts the listener. The pins polling interval is 1ms by default and can be customized (see Encoder()). The Raspberry Pi firmware allows the encoder to be set up as a device with the rotary-encoder overlay. It trades the promise to catch every encoder tick for the ease of use (because it needs to be installed on the host beforeheand, with root privileges). Only tested on Raspbian Buster at this time.
