Failed to construct transformer: Error: error:0308010C:digital envelope routines::unsupported

The simplest and easiest solution to solve the above error is to downgrade Node.js to v14.18.1. And then just delete folder node_modules and try to rebuild your project and your error must be solved.

In JavaScript/TypeScript you can throw anything, not only errors. In theory it could be anything in the catch block. If you want to prevent the type error it could make sense to check if the unknown value is a system error before checking the code.

Update regarding the comments Other lint-staged syntaxes

I've suggested "**/*.{js,vue}": ["npm run lint:js:fix"], first of, lint:js:fix is subjective and up to you. This is what Kent C Dodds is using, so I'm just naming it in the same way.

But you could totally have lint:watermelon-potato-hehe instead, doesn't matter.

            Now, about your propositions:

            1. "**/*.{vue,js,jsx,ts,tsx}": "npm run lint", this one is targeting more extensions, which is totally fine. You may not really use .tsx/.jsx since it's not really popular among Vue devs.
About .ts itself, it may probably work good enough (maybe you'll need to add some plugins to your ESlint configuration). I'm not into TS so I can't really help on this one but it's out of the husky/lint-staged scope anyway.
Last time I started a Vue3 project, I've used Vitesse which has some nice defaults with TS, this may be a good start for you maybe.

As for the second part, since I like to setup my own ESlint config, with some simple and well documented API, we're using eslint --ext .js,.vue --fix. That way I'm sure of what is happening and how to troubleshoot it if needed.
vue-cli-service lint may be a good default package aimed towards Vue with some defaults, I'm not sure what's inside it and even if it's probably just an ESlint with some baked-in configuration, again we prefer to make our own Vue configuration with vanilla ESlint.

So yeah, if you need to go fast, use vue-cli-service lint for some quick linting, if you want to have a better flow in your project and want to fine grain your config, use vanilla ESlint, you'll get less trouble overall IMO.

            1. "**/*.{vue,js,jsx,ts,tsx}": "eslint --ext .vue,.js,.jsx,.ts,.tsx --fix". On the right side, we globally have the same lint:js:fix scripts but with additional extensions.

So, you may ask why are we even writing the extensions on the left side for lint-staged and on the right side for lint:js:fix? I'd answer that those are not really needed on the right side (AFAIK), because lint-staged will only run the command to the left list of extensions.
Here, we wanted to be more explicit about the exact extensions we're targeting and also, it enables you to run npm run lint:js:fix in your CLI at any given point without getting errors on files ESlint is not handling (.txt, .json, .md, .jpg etc...).
So it could maybe be removed (not sure), fastest way to be sure is to try!

            1. "**/*.{vue,js,jsx,ts,tsx}": "eslint --fix", this one may work fine as explained in the previous paragraph. Didn't tried it myself thought.
            What about the other extensions?

Regarding .html, you should not have a lot of those in your Vue project. You could use the W3C validator to check for any errors if you really need it.
If you're speaking about your HTML in the template tags in your .vue files, those will be ESlint'ed properly. If you setup a Prettier on top of it, you will also get some nice auto-formatting which is really awesome to work with (once your team has agreed on a .prettierrc config).

Regarding .json files, those are not handled by ESlint. ESlint is only for JavaScript-ish files. If you want to lint/format your .json or even any other extensions at all, you can aim towards NPM, find a package that suits your team's needs and add it to your chain like "**/*.json": ["npm run lint-my-json-please"] and you should be good!

At the end, husky + lint-staged are not doing anything special really. They are tools to automate what you could write yourself in a CLI, so if it's working when done manually and you're happy with the result, you can put it in your config but you need to first found what the proper package and it's configuration.

In your package.json, you could have the following

I found and tested in shorter toggle mechanism.

            The configuration for Windows Feature:

            • Windows Subsystem for Linux is installed.
            • Windows Hypervisor Platform is installed.
            • Hyper-V is installed.

If you need the Emulator, you only need to turn off Hypervisor + Restart. Run: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

If you need the Docker back, you can run the hypervisor hence disabling Emulator. Run: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto

You need to restart after setting Hypervisor

You cannot run both at the same time. Another forum worth checking in How about running docker? in my older answer below.

            Older Answer

I think I solved this issue, tested to run from CMD / Android Studio and ran perfectly as before installing WSL. There are several step we go:

            Configuring Windows Feature:
            1. Removed Windows Subsystem for Linux
            2. Removed Windows Hypervisor Platform
            3. Removed Hyper-V

            Here is my current setup:

            Reverting AVD setup

I know after removing there are some odds because the AVD still get the same error as before and expected to get into WSL. I stumbled and found something when ran:

            C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\emulator\emulator-check.exe accel

That command will check the current accel. It explains that the Hypervisor need to be set off and give specific help: run bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off.

After running the bcdedit, I restarted and all is reverted. Now I can run emulator both from CMD and Android Studio perfectly.

            How about running docker?

Sad truth, yeah you cannot run both pararel. There are several workaround in this forum:

How can I run both Docker and Android Studio Emulator on Windows?

Several option ranging from changing emulator, add & remove docker when in need using above step, created nested vm, etc. My personal choice right now is using another Emulator for the time being and removed docker for the latter.

Avoid rerendering every component in list while updating only one in React
            Asked 2021-Dec-17 at 07:39

I have a simple chat app using Firebase v9, with these components from parent to child in this hierarchical order: ChatSection, Chat, ChatLine, EditMessage.

I have a custom hook named useChatService holding the list of messages in state, the hook is called in ChatSection, the hook returns the messages and I pass them from ChatSection in a prop to Chat, then I loop through messages and create a ChatLine component for every message.

I can click the Edit button in front of each message, it shows the EditMessage component so I can edit the text, then when I press "Enter", the function updateMessage gets executed and updates the message in the db, but then every single ChatLine gets rerendered again, which is a problem as the list gets bigger.

EDIT 2: I've completed the code to make a working example with Firebase v9 so you can visualize the rerenders I'm talking about after every (add, edit or delete) of a message. I'm using ReactDevTools Profiler to track rerenders.

This is what I think, You are passing Messages in ChatSection and that means that when Messages get updated ChatSection will rerender and all its children will rerender too.

So here is my idea remove Messages from ChatSection and only add it in Chat.

You already using useChatService in Chat so adding Messages there should be better.

Try this and gets back too us if it working.

If still not as you like it to be there is also other way we could fix it.

But you have to create a working example for us so we could have a look and make small changes.

Go GRPC Refresh token for a bidirectional stream
            Asked 2021-Oct-20 at 18:15

TLDR: I am looking for a way to update headers on an open stream for each call to stream.Send(msg) without closing the stream and opening a new one.

            Summary

I have a GRPC client and server built to handle bidirectional streams. To authenticate with the server the client must send a JWT in the request headers, set as "authorization". The token is valid for 30 minutes. After the token has expired, the server will terminate the connection.

I am looking for a way to refresh my authorization token from the client, and keep the stream open. The client should run in a loop executing a new request every 30 minutes with the updated token, and the updated payload. I have not seen a way to update a header from the client side for an already opened stream.

Let's look at some code to get an idea of what the client side looks like. The code below has a function to create a new instance of the client, and another function to establish the connection to the GRPC server.

Headers are sent at the beginning of an RPC, and cannot be updated during the RPC. If you need to send data during the life of a stream, it needs to be part of the request message in your proto definition.
