QUESTION
I am evaluating the product Nessus 7 to perform vulnerability scans on the systems in my network.I am able to perform the scans successfully, but I am unable to automate it with a python Nessrest client. The following error is thrown by the nessrest client. Please help me out with this issue. Thank you.
...ANSWER
Answered 2018-Apr-27 at 07:21Nessus has stopped implicit API Support from 7.x. You should either be using their Free Version "Nessus Home" or licensed to "SecurityCenter or Tenable.io" to use API for automation.
If you were an existing licensee, you can still use API until December, 2018 provided you don't update to Nessus Pro v7 Nessus Update ScreenShot

Install nessrest
You can use nessrest like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.
