QUESTION
I have a text file called listofhotelguests.txt where hotelguests are stored line by line with their first names separated by && as a delimiter. Can someone explain how I can have my Python program read it so it associates john with doe, ronald with macdonald, and george with washington?
My expected outcome I'm hoping for is if I prompt the user for their lastname to make sure their a valid guest on the list, the program will check it against what it has in the file for whatever the firstname they entered earlier was.
So if someone enters george as their first name, the program retrieves the line where it has george&&washington, prompts the user to enter their lastname and if it doesn't match what it has, either say it matches or doesn't. I can figure the rest out later myself.
Assuming there is nobody with the same names.
I know I have to split the lines with &&, and somehow store what's before && as something like name1 and whats after && as name2? Or could I do something where if the firstname and lastname are on the same line it returns name1 and password1?
Not sure on what to do. Python is one of my newer languages, and I'm the only CS student in my family and friend groups, so I couldn't ask anybody else for help. Got nowhere by myself.
Even just pointing me in the direction of what I need to study would help immensely.

I am wanting the user to be able to click a button, then move through an array of quotes with each press of the enter key. What I currently have is the button click loading the array into the function and the enter key moving through each element of the array, but the problem is getting the first quote to display on the screen with the initial button click. I am needing the first quote to appear on button click. As it stands, the button click is only setting me up for the functionality to work. Any attempt I have made to correct this has resulted in the function being called with each press of the enter key (which doesn't come close to what I am wanting as an end result). I recently changed my DocuSign envelope sending implementation to start using composite templates instead of direct documents and noticed that all anchors in the documents are getting multiple signing tabs inserted therefore causing every anchor to have to be signed N (amount of composite templates in envelope) number of times by the customer. For example in the document you can see that it is requiring two initials to occur instead of just one like it used to before using composites:

Answered 2021-Apr-22 at 14:37If your anchor strings scope is set to envelope (vs. document) then DocuSign will scan all documents in the envelope (regardless of how they got into the envelope) for these strings.
You clearly specify the same anchor string twice for both your inline templates expecting it will only apply for the documents in that template, but that's not how it works. It applies to the entire envelope.
To maintain flexibility you can just change the anchor strings from one template to the other to be something different, but if you need them to be the same - specify them only in one of the two templates.
