Rails port of Heroku PG Extras with several additions and improvements. The goal of this project is to provide powerful insights into the PostgreSQL database for Ruby on Rails apps that are not using the Heroku PostgreSQL plugin. Included rake tasks and Ruby methods can be used to obtain information about a Postgres instance, that may be useful when analyzing performance issues. This includes information about locks, index usage, buffer cache hit ratios and vacuum statistics. Ruby API enables developers to easily integrate the tool into e.g. automatic monitoring tasks. You can read this blog post for detailed step by step tutorial on how to optimize PostgreSQL using PG Extras library. Shameless plug: rails-pg-extras is one of the tools that I use when conducting Rails performance audits. What is meant by required-api: param name=”#target” in config.xml file of AGL widgets?

I am trying to understand various available AGL specific options that we can give in config.xml and I am referring to the link below

This is the sample config.xml file

I figured out why we need this

            required-api: param name="#target"

            OPTIONAL(not compulsory)

It declares the name of the unit(in question it is main) requiring the listed apis. Only one instance of the param “#target” is allowed. When there is not instance of this param, it behave as if the target main was specified.
