kandi X-RAY | free Summary

free is a Rust library typically used in Utilities, Interpreter applications. free has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Permissive License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

A terrible programming language that targets an even worse programming language. I decided to name this programming language free because there are absolutely no memory constraints whatsoever. It's basically impossible for a free program to segfault or anything like that: you can arbitrarily assign to any memory location. This isn't by design. It's just a byproduct of the target programming language: SMPL.

            QUESTION

Can I free mallocs that are being generated in every step of a recursion in C?
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 20:53

I am making a simulation with C (for perfomance) that (currently) uses recursion and mallocs (generated in every step of the recursion). The problem is that I am not being able to free the mallocs anywhere in the code, without having the wrong final output. The code consist of two functions and the main function:

            evolution(double initial_energy)

            Answered 2021-Jun-13 at 04:47

You're supposed to free memory right after the last time it will be used. In your program, after the while loop in recursion, Energy isn't used again, so you should free it right after that (i.e., right before return event_counter;).

If the problem did end up being from heap overuse (from strncat), then you could try out this implementation that uses the return from sprintf to append to the string as your building it.

Ok, but yours is an unnecessarily difficult approach. At each step of the merge process, you want half of your threads to wait for the other half to finish, and the most natural way for one thread to wait for another to finish is to use pthread_join(). If you wanted all of your threads to continue with more work after synchronizing then that would be different, but in this case, those that are not responsible for any more merges have nothing at all left to do.

            This is what I've tried:

VBA Macro is ignoring nextBlankRow and duplicates
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 13:16

What I want the Macro to accomplish:

I want the user to be able to fill in data from E2 to E9 on the spreadsheet. When the user presses the "Add Car" button the macro is supposed to be executed. The makro then should take the handwritten data, copy everything from E2:E9 and put it into a table that starts at with C13 and spans over 7 columns, always putting the new set of data in the next free row. It is also supposed to check for duplicates and give an alert while not overwriting the original set of data

So my problem is, that I want the Macro I'm writing to take the information put into certain cells and then copy them into a table underneath.

I'm starting the Macro like this

In RAII(Resource Acquisition Is Initialization), an object obtain piece of resource is the procedure of initialization itself, and resource will be held as life cycle of object, but resource in string_view only includes char * and size, which means the address could be free to invalidation and object couldn't be conscious about it. And does it make the object never closure?

Are VS Code Extensions also free for commercial use?
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 08:00

In the FAQ page of VS Code, there is a clear answer that VS Code itself is free for commercial use. But, are VS Code "Extensions" also free for commercial use?

When I just look over the Marketplace, each Extension is made by a different person/team/company. Therefore, it seems that not all extensions are free for commercial use. (Maybe it depends on the publisher)

Then, how can I check if Extensions are free or not?

More specifically, are "Python"(by Microsoft) and "Python for VSCode"(by Thomas Haakon Townsend) free for commercial use?

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 08:00

VSCode extensions are considered as "open source" projects, so each one of them would have its own license. Both Microsoft's vscode-python and Thomas Haakon's Python-vscode use MIT License, which allow commercial usage with no problems. Microsoft's new Python language server pylance is not open source, but it allows the usage of any number of copies with Visual Studio or VSCode, according to their license

You can always read the license yourself, or visit choose a license to get a summary of widely used software licenses
