LastLayer is an open-source tool that enables hardware and software continuous integration and simulation. Compared to traditional testing approaches based on the register transfer level (RTL) abstraction, LastLayer provides a mechanism for testing Verilog designs with any programming language that supports the C foreign function interface (CFFI). Furthermore, it supports a generic C interface that allows external programs convenient access to storage resources such as registers and memories in the design as well as control over the hardware simulation. Moreover, LastLayer achieves this software integration without requiring any hardware modification and automatically generates language bindings for these storage resources according to user specification. Using LastLayer, we evaluated two representative integration examples: a hardware adder written in Verilog operating over NumPy arrays, and a ReLu vector-accelerator written in Chisel processing tensors from PyTorch.

            I'm trying to switch to using Scapy instead of Wireshark, but am having trouble decoding the data I'm getting. In Wireshark I can easily see the last layer for filtered packets labeled as "Distributed Interactive Simulation", but in Scapy the last layer is "Raw". I'm trying to get the data from this layer in the same human readable format. So far I've gotten:

            First, you have an error in your script. raw = pkt.lastlayer() should be raw = packet.lastlayer().

            Try adding print(packet.show()) to your script for a more readable format which will give you something similar to this:

            JCuda access violation when creating a texture object with the driver API

            I have a JCuda project that's encountering an access violation whenever it tries to create a texture object using the driver API. Java HotSpot claims that the error is coming from nvcuda.dll.

            The underlying CUarray from which the texture is being created seems to be populated correctly; copying its contents back into a host-side float array results in an array that's identical to the initial host-side data. That means that the error itself has to be something in the texture declaration, right?

            Running the code using cuda-memcheck reveals no errors.

            Here is the code that's encountering the error:

            The reason for this access violation was a bug in JCuda 0.9.0.

            The texture handle was erroneously passed to the native function as a NULL pointer. This is fixed in this commit, and the fix will be part of the next release.

            A test case based on the code in the question has been added.

            Update: This issue is fixed in JCuda 0.9.0d.

            Neural network back propagation fails to overfit small data

            I'm trying to implement neural network with back propagation algorithm in Racket. To test the implementation, I decided to train it on a very small data for large amount of iterations, and see if it fits the data it was trained on. However it does not -- using the sigmoid function it outputs extremely small values (of the magnitude of -20), but relative values is correct (that is, the input vector with biggest target value also produces the biggest value in the trained network). Using relu function, the outputs by their magnitued are closer to desired, but incorrect relative to each other. I'd be glad to receive any insight, on why it is so.

            The issue was in the recursive call of the backpropogation function --

            (let ([next-layer-d (backpropagation (rest layers) output targets activation)])

            Output here is the output of current layer before activation function, however it should've been after.
