By default, JS functions return undefined.

Since your show function isn't explicitly returning anything, it returns undefined.

Concerns:

• you're reading the file line-by-line, but you don't use $line anywhere: you're grepping the entire file
• because that grep call returns multiple matches, your $start variable contains newlines

• because you don't quote the variable in the date invocation, that looks like this
