Both yield the same result when applied to a Button. However, you can retrieve the accent color of the current context more easily using Color.accentColor as described here:

Incrementing the variable in a function is creating error while preview (swiftui)
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 08:35

I have this code inside which I'm calling "makeView" function that returns a View, and in the makeView function I'm incrementing the variable "id" and passing it to the View, but when I do this it shows this error

"Updating a preview from SongsList_Previews in SongBook.app (2935) took more than 5 seconds."

And surprisingly when I comment out the line "self.id += 1" everything works. I'm new to SwiftUI, so forgive me if I left out some information.

I'm the author of the article you referenced.

As discussed in Discover concurrency in SwiftUI, views can make use of the new .task { } and .refreshable { } modifiers to fetch data asynchronously.

So you now have the following options to call you async code:

            Widget without using SwiftUI
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 19:09

Is it possible to create a widget in iOS 14+ without using SwiftUI? When adding the target it doesn't give you the option between storyboard and SwiftUI like it does when creating a new project. Is it possible to build out a Widget using Storyboard or XIB?

            Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 19:09

No, it's not possible to create a widget without using SwiftUI. Here's what Apple's documentation says:

To implement a widget, you add a widget extension to your app. You configure the widget with a timeline provider, and use SwiftUI views to display the widget’s content. The timeline provider tells WidgetKit when to update your widget’s content.

iOS: Make function calls between UIViewRepresentable and View both ways, SwiftUI
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 17:44

I am building an application where one of the pages has a webview. Currently the page has a the webview representable and a view. Webview is brought to the view using the UIViewControllerRepresentable. I am wondering firstly how when I tap the login button can I call a function inside the LoginWebview, and also secondly vice versa, how can I call a function in the LoginView from the LoginWebview. I currently have the set up so that when I click login it toggles the states which causes the updateUIView to trigger but how can I call a custom made function in there? And vice versa

Apologies for the long description above and if this a stupid question

            Thanks :)

NavigationView odd transition to and from child view
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 16:02

I'm hoping that I can attach a recording of my simulator to this request. I have a list of items that I create a NavigationLink for that call a child view with different data based on a value passed in. The child view is a large horizontal scroll view with pages that support months of the year. DragGesture controls the positioning of the horizontal scroll.

When I transition from the List to the child view it appears almost like it is swooping in from the right and when it transitions back to the parent list view you can see visual from both views appear briefly during the transition.

I believe it has something to do with the GeometryReader and Horizontal Scroll view, but can't figure out how to stabilize it...

Currently you are using a custom horizontal carousel view(or custom PageTabView etc.), but using TabView with PageTabViewStyle() is easier, unless you want a special animation.

How to implement a reusable button with style, text and icon using SwiftUI?
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 15:36

I know how a custom ButtonStyle works. But I do want to have a fully reusable custom button.

Aka a button with Text and and Icon that has some styles applied.

I know how to achieve this using a ButtonStyle with a text property, but I think this is completely a misuse of button styles.

But I do not want to copy a Button with a large HStack as content all over my app.

What do you recommend in such use cases? It seems that no one has subclassed a Button in SwiftUI on the internet.
