github webhook fails to connect to jenkins with public ip
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 23:51

I am trying to configure github webhooks with my jenkins server but I keep getting "failed to connect". Note that I am using a public ip and not a private or localhost address, At first, icmp protocol was blocked on my firewall but even after allowing it, it still doesn't work.

However, when I proxy my server (using smee client) and use the proxied url in the webhook instead, it works fine, so I thought the problem was jenkins url (in system configuration of jenkins) so I changed that to the public ip but it doesn't have any effect, now I'm clueless.

It might be relevant to mention that jenkins is running on a docker container,

Apparently the webhook must pass through a web server and not to jenkins directly, So I configured nginx as a reverse proxy to jenkins server and it worked fine.

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 13:26

While editing my initial question to add more context as Jay proposed I think it found the issue.

What probably happens? The view where the crash is, contains a table view. Each cell will be configured before being presented. I use a flag which holds the information, if the amount of weight for this cell (it is a strength workout app) has been initially set or is a change. When prepareForReuse is being called, this flag has not been reset. And that now means scrolling through the table view triggers a DB write for each reused cell, that leads to unnecessary writes to the db. Unnecessary, because the exact same number is already saved in the db.

My speculation: Scrolling fast could maybe lead to a race condition (I have read something about that issue with realm) and that maybe causes this weird crash, because there are multiple single writes initiated in a short time.

Solution: I now reset the flag on prepareForReuse to its initial value to prevent this misbehaviour.

The crash only happens when the cell is set up and the described behaviour happens. Therefor I'm quite confident I fixed the issue finally. Let's see. -- I was not able to reproduce the issue, but it also only happens pretty rare.

Your repository is private and requires login to pull image.

You need to create a registry credentials secret for kubernetes, as it do not uses docker credentials.

.Net Core Entity Framework Email Confirmation 'Click Here' link does not update 'EmailConfirmed' DB property
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 11:59

I have setup SendGrid for my user registration email confirmation in my .Net 5.0 app as per Microsofts instructions here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=532713

Everything works fine until the user clicks the confirmation link in their register confirmation email.

This issue is being caused by a stray amp in my confirmation link. I am trying to understand where it is coming from and how to remove it.

When the new user clicks 'Submit' on the Register.cshtml page they are successfully directed to the RegisterConfirmation.cshtml page and the email is received in their inbox.

            Actual behavior:

The user clicks the link in the email and hits the ConfirmEmail page.

The user is redirected to /Index page.

The EmailConfirmed bool in the DB is not updated.

If I comment out the redirect to /Index in my controller, then I get a null value error shown below.

Here I'm wondering about the line [in s_client]
            New, TLSv1/SSLv3, Cipher is ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384

You're apparently using OpenSSL 1.0.2, where that's a basically useless relic. Back in the days when OpenSSL supported SSLv2 (mostly until 2010, although almost no one used it much after 2000), the ciphersuite values used for SSLv3 and up (including all TLS, but before 2014 OpenSSL didn't implement higher than TLS1.0) were structured differently than those used for SSLv2, so it was important to qualify the ciphersuite by the 'universe' it existed in. It has almost nothing to do with the protocol version actually used, which appears later in the session-param decode:
