            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Apr-20 at 13:50

Advertised hostname+port are deprecated properties, you only need advertised.listeners

For listeners, it should be a socket bind address, such as 0.0.0.0:9094 for all connections on port 9094

When I start the producer it is always trying to connect localhost:9092

Probably because there's a space in your property file before the equals sign (in general, I'd suggest using a yaml config file instead of properties). You can also simply use spring.kafka.bootstrap-servers

HBase fully distributed mode [Zookeeper error while executing HBase shell]
            Asked 2021-Mar-17 at 00:35

Following these two tutorials: i.e tutorial 1 and tutorial 2, I was able to set up HBase cluster in fully-distributed mode. Initially the cluster seems to work okay.

The 'jps' output in HMaster/ Name node

The jps output in DataNodes/ RegionServers

Nevertheless, when every I try to execute hbase shell, it seems that the HBase processors are interrupted due to some Zookeeper error. The error is pasted below:

            Answered 2021-Mar-17 at 00:35

After 5 days of hustle, I learned what went wrong. Posting my solution here. Hope it can help some of the other developers too. Also would like to thank @VV_FS for the comments.

In my scenario, I used virtual machines which I burrowed from an external party. Therefore, there were certain firewalls and other security measures. In case if you follow a similar experimental setup, these steps might help you.

To set up HBase cluster, follow the following tutorials.

            1. Set up Hadoop in distributed mode.

Notes when setting up HBase in fully distributed-mode:

            • Make sure to open all the ports mentioned in the post. For example, use sudo ufw allow 9000 to open port 9000. Follow the command to open all the ports in relation to running Hadoop.
            1. Set up Zookeeper in distributed mode.

Notes when setting up Zookeeper in fully distributed mode:

            • Make sure to open all the ports mentioned in the post. For example, use sudo ufw allow 3888 to open port 3888. Follow the command to open all the ports in relation to running Zookeeper.
            • DO NOT START ZOOKEEPER NODES AFTER INSTALLATION. ZOOKEEPER WILL BE MANAGED HBASE INTERNALLY. THEREFORE, DON'T START ZOOKEEPER AT THIS STAGE.
            1. Set up HBase in distributed mode.
            • When setting up values for hbase-site.xml, use port number 60000 for hbase.master tag, not 60010. (thanks @VV_FS to point this out in the earlier discussion).

            • Make sure to open all the ports mentioned in the post. For example, use sudo ufw allow 60000 to open port 60000. Follow the command to open all the ports in relation to running Zookeeper.

[Important thoughts]: If encounters errors, always refer to HBase logs. In my case, hbase-mater-xxxxx.log and zookeeper-master--xxx.log helped me to track down exact errors.

How to migrate Clickhouse's Zookeeper to new instances?
            Asked 2021-Jan-13 at 16:40

I'm hosting ClickHouse (v20.4.3.16) in 2 replicas on Kubernetes and it makes use of Zookeeper (v3.5.5) in 3 replicas (also hosted on the same Kubernetes cluster).

I would need to migrate the Zookeeper used by ClickHouse with another installation, still 3 replicas but v3.6.2.

What I tried to do was the following:

            • I stopped all instances of ClickHouse in order to freeze Zookeeper nodes. Using zk-shell, I mirrored all znodes from /clickhouse of the old ZK cluster to the new one (it took some time but it was completed without problems)
            • I restarted all instances of ClickHouse, one at a time, now attached to the new instance of Zookeeper.
            • Both the ClickHouse instances started correctly, without any errors, but all the times I try (or someone tries) to add rows to a table with an insert, ClickHouse logs something like the following:

You cannot use this method because it does not copy autoincrement values which are used for part block numbers.

There are much simpler way. You can migrate ZK cluster by adding new ZK nodes as followers.

Try to either downgrade Mockito to version 2.23 or upgrade ByteBuddy to version 1.97.

Though you have not provided example data or enough explanation, this is mostly not due to your code or configuration. It is happening so,due to non-optimal rowkey design. The data you are writing is having keys(hbase rowkey) improperly structured(maybe monotonically increasing or something else). So, write to one of the regions is happening. You can prevent that thro' various ways(various recommended practices for rowkey design like salting, inverting, and other techniques). For reference you can see http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#rowkey.design

In case,if you are wondering whether the write is done in parallel for all regions or one by one(not clear from question) look at this : http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#_bulk_load.
