QUESTION
Friends, this is my first question here... I've been facing some problems when downloading a PDF buffer using MS2XML.XMLHTTP. I've been using Genexus to do so but I also tried right in pure Visual Fox Pro. The problem is that when I send the ResponseText to a string variable, some characters are replaced by question marks, the sam happens when I send the ResponseText to a pdf or txt file. The object created in MS2XML.XMLHTTP.6.0 does not allow using the ResponseBody property. Any thoughts on how could I solve it using MS2XML.XMLHTTP? Thanks.

Answered 2021-Mar-16 at 12:36Since a PDF is a binary file and not a text file, it is quite normal you would see ? and all sorts of other non-printable characters. Instead save it to a file on disk and open with something like ShellExecute. ie:

QUESTION
I'm attempting to setup and use the TIM2
peripheral in one pulse mode (OPM) on the STM32F303 Discovery
board.
The issue I'm encountering is that the timer instantly completes after enabling it.
I'm not using interrupt
's at this point and I'm just polling the TIM2_SR
(status register) UIF
bit to determine if the timer has completed.
This only happens the first time I enable the timer, if I use the timer again it works correctly (does not complete instantly).
I've tried resetting the TIM2_CNT
register prior to enabling the timer but the result is the same.
ANSWER
Answered 2020-Dec-18 at 21:34OK, so after re-reading the section on timers in the manual I found the following:
The new prescaler ratio is taken into account at the next update event.
OK, so how can I generate an update event via software in order for the prescaler value to get updated prior to starting the timer. That's when I found this (emphsis mine):
In upcounting mode, the counter counts from 0 to the auto-reload value (content of the TIMx_ARR register), then restarts from 0 and generates a counter overflow event. An Update event can be generated at each counter overflow or by setting the UG bit in the TIMx_EGR register (by software or by using the slave mode controller).
So after setting the prescaler
value I then set the UG
bit in the TIM2_EGR
register.

...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Mar-03 at 08:03Starting with version 1.5 PDF supports so called object streams, i.e. stream objects which contain other non-stream objects.
Your object 10739 is such an object stream as you can see in its Type ObjStm.
This allows those other objects to be compressed. In particular structure tree objects which otherwise can substantially increase the size of a PDF, can be compressed fairly well, reducing their impact on the document size.
For details please study the PDF specification, section 7.5.7 – Object Streams, in either the current PDF specification ISO 32000-2 or its predecessor ISO 32000-1.
Adobe has shared a copy of ISO 32000-1 on their web site which merely has its ISO page headers replaced. Simply google for "PDF32000_2008"; currently it is located at https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/pdf/pdfs/PDF32000_2008.pdf but as far as I know this isn't a permalink.
