WebRTC localConnection.setRemoteDescription(answer) pending for too long
            Asked 2021-Jun-11 at 08:00

I am trying to implement a simple messaging mechanism between my browser (peer 1) and another browser (peer 2) on a different network. I am using Google's public STUN servers for learning.

Peer 1 does the following first:

Here is a complete example of what you are trying to accomplish. Notice that it also has code for a Google STUN server, but it is remarked out: https://owebio.github.io/serverless-webrtc-chat/.

            That page uses two iframes:

            Create: https://owebio.github.io/serverless-webrtc-chat/noserv.create.html

            Join: https://owebio.github.io/serverless-webrtc-chat/noserv.join.html.

            This should get you started.

Also, two libraries built on WebTorrent exist that can aid in discovering and connecting to peers using only the browser: Bugout, P2PT.

Is Numb Turn server not working or are my configurations wrong?

I am using the free TURN server provided by https://numb.viagenie.ca/. The STUN servers are also public.

Before setting up a brand new TURN server you can try to understand what's actually happening: if you take a trace on the computer with an application like Wireshark, and filter for stun messages, you should be able to see the browser sending Binding Request and Allocate Request methods towards the TURN server.

A missing response from the server may mean that the server is not available, the port is wrong, or a firewall prevents the browser to reach the TURN server.

If instead the credentials are wrong, the browser will receive a 401 error to the Allocate Request with the message-integrity attribute.

You can also verify the TURN URL and credentials by running the WebRTC sample application that deals with ICE candidate gathering at https://webrtc.github.io/samples/src/content/peerconnection/trickle-ice/ .

Npm workspaces - call workspace script from root package
            Asked 2021-Jun-10 at 10:47

I'm struggling with multiple npm packages in a root git repository with custom dev scripts to handle launch, compile, build and so on. Now I came across npm workspaces and wanted to use this stunning new feature in my following project structure but I can't get it to work:

Your "workspaces" property in package.json looks right. I'm using NPM Workspaces and it's working well, but it's still missing a lot of features so you need to wire things up yourself. I also don't think npm worksace is a command (but maybe for the future?), so here's a checklist to get it to work:

            • Make sure you're using Node 15+ and NPM 7+
            • Set all package.json to "private": true,
            • Delete all package-lock.json inside of your project, go to the root, then npm install. It should generate one root level package-lock.json that contains all dependencies for your workspaces
            • Since you're using npm-run-all, add this to your scripts:

I'm assuming you don't really need a cross join of 'person' with 'person'. So I'm dropping that logic from the sources.

I don't have and Oracle instance to work with, but I believe the code below, which uses a case statement to achieve your conditional need, should work for you:

Compiling Node.js into an executeable without putting the entirety of Node.js in there
            Asked 2021-May-22 at 21:03

So, I'm trying to pack a simple hello world script into an executeable, yet when using pkg or nexe, it looks like the entirety of Node.js get's packed in there, as they are way bigger than they need to be (around 30 MB). I did stumble upon EncloseJS, however, it was last updated in 2017 and no longer works (and the owner themself advices you to switch to pkg).

So, are there any other things out there that can compile it better than that?

            Thanks in advance!

Also: This is the stunningly complex script that needs to run

No, pkg and nexe works like that - they melting your code and NodeJS in one executable. Because, basically, you need NodeJS to run nodejs scripts - there is some specific methods like fs, for example, witch not exist in regular js.

Anyway, on this moment there is some projects to view:

            1. NectarJS - project with actual dev status, basically compiles JS to C. But their main objectives is pretty interesting.

            2. There is small JS engine called QuickJS witch compiles JS to C.

            3. Another option is ts2c witch translate JS to C, but it does not support much features.

But keep in mind, that non of them works as good as pkg, witch fully support latest JS features and all NodeJS methods.

Can we use a different subdomain than 'stun'/'turn' for a STUN / TURN Server?
            Asked 2021-May-21 at 12:56

All the documentation / tutorials for setting up a STUN / TURN server suggest that we need to create two subdomains namely:

            • stun.yourdomain.com
            • turn.yourdomain.com

And then these can be accessed as:

            • stun:stun.yourdomain.com:5349
            • turn:turn.yourdomain.com:3478

Is it possible to register subdomains with different names than "stun" and "turn" ? Has anyone tried / created subdomains as:

            • stun:somothername.yourdomain.com:5349 ?

Is there any official documentation / reference that can be used to understand this in more detail?

            Thanks in advance!

If I understand RFC 5389 correctly, there is no requirement to use specific domain names, on the contrary:

Hard-coding the domain name of the server into software is NOT RECOMMENDED in case the domain name is lost or needs to change for legal or other reasons.

            (from section 9)

As long as you follow the advice in that section for DNS Discovery, you should be able to use any domain/host name you like.

The issue I'm having is with the for loop of drawing the lines, I got all the positions of the planets done depending on their number of years to rotate. Another factor to include is the change in color when a new year is cycled. The issue I'm having is the final image of the svg file. My Result Expected Result

The entity reference " is never needed in text nodes; it is only needed in attribute values, in the case where " has been used as the attribute delimiter. You can write " in text nodes if you want, but it's not necessary, so any tool that rewrites the XML will probably not use it.
