So I've upgraded to Visual Studio 16.6.3. When I go to the Task Runner Explorer it doesn't load my gulp file, in the Task Runner Output Window I can see...

The solution I found was to downgrade to NodeJs v11.15.0 and use gulp 3.9.1.

If anyone out there has a better option I'd be keen to hear it.

I have the following in my Angular app (v1.5.3, ui-router v0.3.2):

So it seems like this was an nginx issue, not an Angular issue. The default behavior is to return a 403 for any path that starts with a dot. But as I understand it, this a way to override the default behavior to return a 404 instead:
