I have just made some pulls from my library's from GitHub, I was using my windows computer to do the coding in VSCode. The code has no problem, although when I attempt to run npm install or yarn install to get the node_modules and the yarn.lock I get a weird error and the packages don't work. I'm using ZSH as the terminal for my Mac.

After facing similar issues on some of our workstations, I would say that it definitely looks like a bug in Node 14.18.x on m1 Macs and/or Big Sur (even though node itself is compiled for x86_64). I suspect a linking issue with the zlib library, but this is a discussion for Node's issue tracker...

So here's my suggestion: uninstall Node 14.18.x and try using Node 14.17.x instead.

As a side note, you may find it useful to first install nvm. nvm allows to quickly install several versions of Node, and switch from one to the other. For example, you might do:

I had a similar problem with another module.

The solution I found was to update both node (to v16) and npm (to v8).

For Node, I used brew (but nvm should be OK).

For npm, I used what the official doc says :

These errors seems to have happened due to react-scripts v5. Took me a day to figure out a solution while using react-router v5. But it seems the best approach for now is to stay on, or revert back to v4.0.3 until v5 adds back support for node built-ins #11764 is merged and released.

            QUESTION

How to install local package with conda
            Asked 2022-Feb-05 at 04:16

I have a local python project called jive that I would like to use in an another project. My current method of using jive in other projects is to activate the conda env for the project, then move to my jive directory and use python setup.py install. This works fine, and when I use conda list, I see everything installed in the env including jive, with a note that jive was installed using pip.

But what I really want is to do this with full conda. When I want to use jive in another project, I want to just put jive in that projects environment.yml.

            So I did the following:

            1. write a simple meta.yaml so I could use conda-build to build jive locally
            2. build jive with conda build .
            3. I looked at the tarball that was produced and it does indeed contain the jive source as expected
            4. In my other project, add jive to the dependencies in environment.yml, and add 'local' to the list of channels.
            5. create a conda env using that environment.yml.

When I activate the environment and use conda list, it lists all the dependencies including jive, as desired. But when I open python interpreter, I cannot import jive, it says there is no such package. (If use python setup.py install, I can import it.) How can I fix the build/install so that this works?

Here is the meta.yaml, which lives in the jive project top level directory:

            Answered 2022-Feb-05 at 04:16

The immediate error is that the build is generating a Python 3.10 version, but when testing Conda doesn't recognize any constraint on the Python version, and creates a Python 3.9 environment.

I think the main issue is that python >=3.5 is only a valid constraint when doing noarch builds, which this is not. That is, once a package builds with a given Python version, the version must be constrained to exactly that version (up through minor). So, in this case, the package is built with Python 3.10, but it reports in its metadata that it is compatible with all versions of Python 3.5+, which simply isn't true because Conda Python packages install the modules into Python-version-specific site-packages (e.g., lib/python-3.10/site-packages/jive).

Typically, Python versions are controlled by either the --python argument given to conda-build or a matrix supplied by the conda_build_config.yaml file (see documentation on "Build variants").

Try adjusting the meta.yaml to something like

There was a breaking change to the way DeflateStream operates in .NET 6. You can read more about it and the recommended actions in this Microsoft documentation.

Basically, you need to wrap the .Read operation and check the length read versus the expected length because the operation may now return before reading the full length. Your code might look like this (based on the example in the documentation):

            ERRORS

getifaddrs() may fail and set errno for any of the errors specified for socket(2), bind(2), getsockname(2), recvmsg(2), sendto(2), malloc(3), or realloc(3).

Paramiko authentication fails with "Agreed upon 'rsa-sha2-512' pubkey algorithm" (and "unsupported public key algorithm: rsa-sha2-512" in sshd log)
            Asked 2022-Jan-13 at 14:49

I have a Python 3 application running on CentOS Linux 7.7 executing SSH commands against remote hosts. It works properly but today I encountered an odd error executing a command against a "new" remote server (server based on RHEL 6.10):

encountered RSA key, expected OPENSSH key

Executing the same command from the system shell (using the same private key of course) works perfectly fine.

On the remote server I discovered in /var/log/secure that when SSH connection and commands are issued from the source server with Python (using Paramiko) sshd complains about unsupported public key algorithm:

userauth_pubkey: unsupported public key algorithm: rsa-sha2-512

Note that target servers with higher RHEL/CentOS like 7.x don't encounter the issue.

It seems like Paramiko picks/offers the wrong algorithm when negotiating with the remote server when on the contrary SSH shell performs the negotiation properly in the context of this "old" target server. How to get the Python program to work as expected?

Imo, it's a bug in Paramiko. It does not handle correctly absence of server-sig-algs extension on the server side.

Try disabling rsa-sha2-* on Paramiko side altogether:
