Transform local coordinates to WGS84 and back in C#
            Asked 2022-Mar-29 at 21:36

Some people working on a the construction site use a local custom coordinate system. I have been given a proj4 string like this:

            +proj=omerc +lat_0=46.325454996 +lonc=7.99050231 +alpha=60.4026421358 +gamma=90 +k=1 +x_0=350 +y_0=200 +datum=WGS84 +units=m +no_defs +type=crs

            And x,y coordinates like this 429.079425606807, 261.126436507318

And I need to convert their coordinates into WGS84 and back

I tried to use the DotSpatial to make the transformation. Any other libraries in C# can be accepted.

Reprojection is not changing the values in the 'geometry' column when converting to a sf dataframe in R
            Asked 2022-Mar-24 at 21:37

I have POINT_X, POINT_Y, and a z-point column in a .csv file that I'm trying to reproject in R. Originally, it was projected in the EPSG:26777 reference system, but I'm trying to project it back to WGS 84. However, when I import the .csv file into R and try the conversion, it does not change the point values in my "geometry" column. How can I change them to latitude and longitude coordinates?

Here is the data, exported in the original projection:

To transform the data to lat/lon, first you need to load it with the original crs value.

Subsetting data and graphing on a world map using sf in R: "Error: Object not found"
            Asked 2022-Feb-22 at 22:28

I am working with the world and worldbank_df datasets in the spData package in R, and am needing to subset my data and graph my results. I am selecting the columns "continents" and "urban_pop," dropping all NA values, grouping by continent, and summarizing the mean urban population of all continents. However, when I go to graph the results using the geom_sf call, I am getting an error:

            Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : object 'mean_urban_pop' not found

I need to graph this data in a world map, but it's not working for me because the geom coordinates are not being transferred over to my new dataset.

How can I get these results graphed?

Note: The below coordinate system projected is the one that I must use.

r Terra issue with multicategorical raster. How to properly extract the categories and their values into layers without losing data?
            Asked 2022-Feb-10 at 00:16

I am working with rTerra and having an issue with the CONUS historical disturbance dataset from LANDFIRE found here:https://landfire.gov/version_download.php (HDist is the name). To summarize what I want to do, I want to take this dataset, crop and project to my extent, then take the values of the cells and separate them as layers. So I want a layer for severity, one for disturbance type, etc. The historical disturbance data has these things all in one attribute table. In terra, this attribute table is set up under categories and this is providing a lot of problems. I have not had issues with the crop nor reproject, it is getting into the values and separating the categories into layers. I have the following code

ee.Image.combine() uses the system:ID property to join the 2 images. See the documentation here. Since your images do not match, the resulting collection has no images.

A solution that should fit your needs utilizes the ee.Join.inner() to take advantage of the Date property that you have created to join the 2 image collections. A similar question was answered here.

Using inner join, I was able to accomplish what appeared to be your goal of finding the difference in NDVI between the S2 and MODIS collections. The full working script can be found here: https://code.earthengine.google.com/dc45df1b7cf83723d53e9f7917975e2d

Clip Raster with Polygon with GDAL C++
            Asked 2022-Jan-12 at 10:20

I am trying to clip a raster using a polygon an GDAL. At the moment i get an error that there is a read access violation when initializing the WarpOperation. I can access my Shapefile and check the num of features so the access is fine i think. Also i can access my Raster Data (GetProjectionRef).. All files are in the same CRS. Is there a way to use GdalWarp with Cutline?

            ANSWER

            Answered 2022-Jan-12 at 10:20

Your psWarpOptions->hCutline should be a polygon, not a layer.

Also the cutline should be in source pixel/line coordinates.

Check TransformCutlineToSource from gdalwarp_lib.cpp, you can probably simply get the code from there.

This particular GDAL operation, when called from C++, is so full of pitfalls - and there are so many open questions about it here - that I am reproducing a full working example:

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Nov-20 at 17:28
            • used your sample geometry from GitHub
            • it's clear this geometry has too many parts to effectively plot with plotly
              • created utility function reduce_geometry() that has three approaches to reducing geometries that are MultiPolygon
              • can use size, percentile or topn. Have demonstrated topn which used only biggest N geometries in MultiPolygon
              • this function also has mode to get transparency of what it has done. join() this info onto GeoDataFrame (it's used in hover_data)
              • MultiGeometry still means hover text is somewhat odd where it shows up. Optionally explode() geometry to just polygons
            • it is not EPSG:4326 so projected to make it work with plotly
