QUESTION
My team recently have been running into an odd error when trying to npm start
a Create React App we are developing. The error is Bad state: Can't access __parent outside of a module
which is causing the Build to fail. We have used this setup for about a year without having this issue. The node-sass version we are using is "node-sass": "npm:sass@^1.32.5"
It is a dart Sass implementation. We have tried reinstall node modules and clearing npm cache to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. The full error message is below.
ANSWER
Answered 2021-May-12 at 17:18Ok, so we recently figured out the issue. A stylesheet was referenced in the app from a node module. The node module was updated and the path to the stylesheet did not exist anymore. For some reason the linter only had an issue with it when a production build was being created. The error message was very vague. We use Create React App and its configurations for building a production app.
QUESTION
This is a very strange issue but I was using react-table 7.0.0.rc16 and I recently upgraded to react-table 7.0.1 the problem is my data works in dev mode but as soon I create a react build it wont render anything I would like to know why and I am attaching my package.json for the same. sandbox
Package.json
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Feb-04 at 07:33This is a problem with react-table v7.0.1, upgrading to v7.0.2 fixes the problem.
It's a minification bug. Here is the exact commit that fixed the problem.
From the Changelog :
7.0.2
- Fixed an issue where the internal flexRenderer would not work correctly in production due to the strangest friggin' minification bug I've ever encountered. 🤷♂️
QUESTION
I am trying to use Vanilla Tilt in my React app with the following example: https://codesandbox.io/s/vanilla-tilt-with-react-n5ptm
My code looks like this:
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Dec-21 at 11:28Though React-17
has been recently released. There may occur some errors with some packages.
Try downgrading to the previous stable version of React.
Go to your package.json
replace "react-dom": "^17.0.1"
, and "react": "^17.0.1"
, with "react-dom": "^16.13.1"
, and "react": "^16.13.1"
.
Then do a npm install
in the terminal to get it started.
QUESTION
I have a Node/React project in my Webstorm that won't run because of this error. I had to reinstall Windows and start fresh with my development. I got the code back into the IDE, but when I start up the Node server, I am getting the following error: TypeError [ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE]: The "path" argument must be of type string. Received undefined
More context for that error:
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Sep-11 at 22:23OK, I figured out the issue. I thought the error was telling me that path
was undefined. When it fact it was saying the variables passed into path.join()
were undefined. And that was because I forgot to add in my .env file to the root so it could grab those variables. Whoops!
QUESTION
I'm creating an internal NPM package that contains the base layout for all of our ReactJS web applications. In this package, I am using styled-components for formatting the components, and rollup to build the package. Styled components is also used in the target application.
Here are the config files:

...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Dec-09 at 00:17So, after two weeks, it turns out that having an image in the theme was what was causing this. Changing the image from an import to a url reference fixed this problem.
QUESTION
I'm using react material-table and want a decent scroll-bar instead of default Pagination. I have tried react-custom-scroll but it's not working as per my intention. The default scroll-bar of my App is activated. One more thing, how can I just apply this type of scroll on just the table body?
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Nov-10 at 15:27Without using CustomScroll
, you can do this by setting minimum(minBodyHeight
) and maximum(maxBodyHeight
) viewport height in the options like this:
QUESTION
I have a dnd selection tab with search functionality to filter the items available. Once an item is selected from draggable section it should be removed from that section and dropped to the droppable section and vice versa. The link to my code is https://codesandbox.io/s/dnd-search-select-sort-xfdtn When an item say "Apple" is selected it is going to the droppable section but when I search for "Apple" again in the draggable section search bar it reappears again and I can again move that to the droppable section which should not be the case. Once it is selected it should not appear again on the list. Below is the corresponding code.
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-May-21 at 02:55In your state you create Fuse
instance once with full list of items
. In your handleItemSearch
you always search against full list of items
. Hence the issue.
To solve the issue, create fresh instance of Fuse
in your handleItemSearch
QUESTION
I have a rather complex React app. I have a modal with a form and a submit button. The form has a submit handler attached that runs some code. Part of that code is updating the orders state array with the new data from the form. When that happens, the page errors out with a different component that uses the orders state array stating it is undefined
. I'm not sure if I'm updating the state incorrectly or if I have something else wrong in my app. I am passing orders and setOrders down as props to the respective components.
Here is the modal component that is trying to update the state array. SetOrders gets passed down as a prop:
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Jan-14 at 20:51You just forgot to return your new mapped array in your setOrders
