            Nesting dictionary of dictionaries
            Asked 2021-Nov-06 at 16:35

I am trying to nest two dictionaries, perhaps it's easier to just make one dictionary of dictionaries, however, I have the same keys with different values, would it be easier to just change the keys or is there a way to nest these two?

How do you know which dict do you want to use right now? If you want to keep little control over the individual elements of your dict in its current state (e.g., ['dAMP',1,..., other values], you can make the value of the dict a list of lists and refer to a desired element by an index. However, if you can assign each element a unique name, indeed you can create a nested dict with the following code:

Which is better in OCaml pattern matching, `when` or `if-then-else`?

Let's say we have a type called d:

Quoting the OCaml Towards Clarity and Grace style guide:

Code is more often read than written - make the life of the reader easy

            and

Less code is better, cryptic code is worse

The first makes me think that the version with multiple when clauses is the better choice, as it makes it easy to predict or evaluate the result when reading the code depending on condition. The second goes further, against the if-then-else because, even if shorter, is cryptic when looking from afar.

Also, in the section Functions, we find out that "Pattern matching is the preferred way to define functions"

From a Haskell functional programmer's point of view.

Python3.7 get diff of multiple files in two directories
            Asked 2020-May-04 at 18:33

I'm stuck on the basic logic I need to create this script. I'm trying to do a diff from the local server to a remote server. I have the diff code working for explicit filenames, but now I need to determine if the files are the same so I'm not doing the diff on two completely different files when I'm looping through the directory. I can't quite figure out the logic I need to use. Here is my setup:

All you need in order to mange this is queue. First add root dir to queue and then run some code with logic below:

            1. Pop item from queue.
            2. List items in the destination (like dir command)
            3. In the list (from step 2) there are 2 type of objects you need to handle
              1. files you can check if they exists in the source (by name or by binary shape (check them by hash)) (location in the source should be the location queue)
              2. folders adding its path to a queue and recheck from step 1
            4. If any thing didn't exist in source (either in step 3.1 or 3.2) copy them (or any other operation you should do)
