modal with dynamic content won't set value to text field
            Asked 2017-Dec-30 at 02:18

I'm loading content into a modal, and using checkbox's to set email addresses to a "recipients" text field. If I hard code the content, this works fine... but loading it from an external resource, the checked email addresses don't populate the recipients field.

I realize the post here isn't going load my local resource for the dynamic content, so I've had to double-up the code.... first is my real code, and then the way that it does work.

Figured it out. I have to bind an event to a parent that already existed before the document was loaded.

I am using lightbox and hideseek plugins in my project and want to add interactions between them (one must follow the rules of another).

Use removeData() to remove the value then removeAttr() to remove the actual attribute. Add it back with attr(). I added a button that toggles these methods which shows that data-lightbox is removed when you see the red border disappear. Note that I have added multiple anchors and used nothing other than $('a') to collect all of the links. each(), children() etc. was not needed.
