Install job-board-backend
This project uses Docker for local development so that you can have a local copy of the database on your machine. Specifically this requires us to use Docker Compose. Follow the instructions here to install it. See below for some common troubleshooting tips if (when) you end up having issues with your Docker setup.
To connect to your local copy of the the db through a postgres client for debugging, download a postgres client (e.g. Postbird) and enter the following credentials. See the team Slack channel to import a .sql file to seed your db. Open a separate terminal window to the same directory and run the database migrations. You will have to do this if there are any changes made to the migrations folder to ensure you're running the most up to date database schema locally.
