QUESTION
I have the wackiest bug. Like....the wackiest! If any of ya'll want to put eyes on this, awesomesauce! I really appriciate it! I am creating a survey with REACT, Redux, SQL, HML, Material-ui, and CSS.
I've created a graph of information with am4charts using data from a database. Everything is working and will show up on the page......but not on page load. What I am seeing in my console is that the page will load, it fires off my get request but doesn't return with the data fast enough (I think). By the time that the get request loads, my graph has populated with no data.
Here is the code that I have for the page that I am rendering. What is really odd is that, once my code has run, I can cut a line of code (I've been using a console log). And then the graph will render and load.

QUESTION
I have a react application (Node back end) running on Heroku (free option) connecting to a MongoDB running on Atlas (also free option). When I connect the application from my local machine to the Atlas DB all is fine and data retrieved (all 108 K records) in about 10 seconds, smaller amounts (4-500 records) of data in much less time. The same request from the application running on Heroku to the Atlas DB fails. The application running on Heroku can retrieve a small number of records (1-10) from the same collection of (108 K records), in less than a second. As soon as I try to retrieve a couple of hundred records the system fails. Below are the logs. I included the section of the logs that show a successful retrieval of 1 record and then failing on the request for about 450 records.
I have three questions:
- What is the cause of the issue?
- Is there a work around in the free option of Heroku?
- If there is no work around in the free option, what Heroku pay level will I need to get to and what steps will I need to take to get this working? I will probably upgrade in the future but want to prove all is working before going in that direction.

Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 18:09You're running out of heap memory in your node server. It might be because there's some statement that uses a lot of memory. You can try to find that or you can try to increase node memory like this.
QUESTION
I have master-slave (primary-standby) streaming replication set up on 2 physical nodes. Although the replication is working correctly and walsender and walreceiver both work fine, the files in the pg_wal
folder on the slave node are not getting removed. This is a problem I have been facing every time I try to bring the slave node back after a crash. Here are the details of the problem:
postgresql.conf on master and slave/standby node
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 15:00You didn't describe omitting pg_replslot during your rsync, as the docs recommend. If you didn't omit it, then now your replica has a replication slot which is a clone of the one on the master. But if nothing ever connects to that slot on the replica and advances the cutoff, then the WAL never gets released to recycling. To fix you just need to shutdown the replica, remove that directory, restart it, (and wait for the next restart point to finish).
Do they need to go to wal_archive folder on the disk just like they go to wal_archive folder on the master node?
No, that is optional not necessary. It is set by archive_mode = always
if you want it to happen.
QUESTION
I'm making blackjack in C++ and I'm nearing the end! I'm making my winning and loss statements. But my issue is that I need my if statements to determine not only whether or not the dealer's/players hand is greater or less than one another it needs to check if either has gone over 21.
So having the if statements determine that isn't the problem I just need it to not go through one if statement if the other is over 21
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 13:53In Blackjack, if both the player and the dealer get more than 21 (which is called "busting"), then the player loses and the dealer wins. Therefore, you must design the logic accordingly:
QUESTION
I've been using git my entire development life, and just recently got assigned to an antiquated sourcebase that is unfortunately still using IBM Clearcase for Windows for its version control. I've been struggling to get a grasp on the basics, mostly because there are many things that don't have a clear analog to git, and there isn't much support available for Clearcase since nearly every business no longer uses it.
My main problem is I can't figure out how to checkout a different branch. I've created a snapshot view of a VOB(so in git terms, a local repo cloned from a remote), and I believe I'm on the master branch. I'm looking at it in Rational ClearCase Explorer. I then open up the "Type Explorer", select the VOB I'm working with, and select "branch types". From here I can see every single branch that's been created.
Let's say I want to check out branch "my_branch". I don't see any appropriate selection from the context menu upon right-click in this Clearcase explorer. The only options are "Clone", "Delete", "Rename" and "Properties". From cleartool, I run the command
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 13:02Note: I have documented the main difference between Git and ClearCase in "What are the basic clearcase concepts every developer should know?" back in 2009.
You do not "checkout" a branch.
You list a set of config select rules with version selectors, like:
