            I have heavy netCDF files with floating 64-bits precision. I would like to pack using specific values for the add_offset and scale_factor parameters (so then I could transform to short I16 precision). I have found information for unpacking with CDO operators but not for packing.

            Any help? Thank you in advance!

            Good question! I'll dig a bit and see if I can find a way, but in the meantime,do you know that cdo can convert to netcdf4 and compress the files using the zip technique? That might also help, plus you can also try moving to single precision floats perhaps?

            I've a file with 7946479 records, i want to read the file line by line and insert into the database(sqlite).             As a solution to your problem of the tasks taking too long, I would suggest using multiprocessing instead of chunking the text (as it would take just as long but in more steps). Using the multiprocessing library allows multiple processing cores to perform the same task in parallel, resulting in shorter run time. Here is an example.

            The short answer is you can't use .sel to select individual elements within multi-dimensional coordinates.

            See this question which goes into some possible options. If you have multi-dimensional coordinates lat/lon, it is not at all guaranteed that da.sel(lon=..., lat=...) will return a unique or correct result (note that xarray isn't designed to treat lat/lon as a special geospatial coordinate), so da.sel is not intended for this use case.

            You either need to translate your intended (lon, lat) pair into (x, y) space, or mask the data with t2.where((abs(t2.lon - lon) < tol) & (abs(t2.lat - lat) < tol), drop=True) or something of the like.

            NASA Power API version 2 was released. The maintainer of nasapower R's package has been updating the codes. Take a look at the github repo. You can find, for example, that PRECTOT was changed to PRECTOTCORR. You can also find the progress here.
