kandi X-RAY | mesh_segmentation Summary
A simple python addon for blender using spectral clustering to segment meshes. Uses [numpy] and [scipy] for matrix calculations. Developed as a project for the spectral-clustering course of University Bremen. Based on the paper "Segmentation of 3D Meshes through Spectral Clustering" by Rong Liu and Hao Zhang (# Usage. Now you can select an object in the 3D viewport, hit F3 and search for "Segment Mesh". Clicking on that entry shows the addon in a popup. You can find more examples in the example-results folder.

QUESTION
I have defined and loaded a surface mesh as suggested in here: typedef OpenMesh::PolyMesh_ArrayKernelT Surface_mesh;
, yet to use such
algorithm as Triangulated Surface Mesh Segmentation I need a Polyhedron alike:
ANSWER
Answered 2017-Apr-23 at 12:19The algorithm is working directly with this OpenMesh data structure, there is no need to do a copy. However, if you happen to need to copy data structures, you can use the fonction CGAL::copy_face_graph()
.

Install mesh_segmentation
You can use mesh_segmentation like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.
