            Try using modulus which is % in pandas. It returns the remainder value after division. For your use case, you want to return the rows of id divided by 100 and its remainder is 0.

            We could use rleid from data.table on the 'unique_id' column to generate distinct ids when the adjacent values are not similar, then grouped by 'unique_id', change the 'new' column to create sequential values using match, create a sequence column with row_number() to account for duplicate elements before doing the pivot_wider to reshape into 'wide'

            Passing variable to Regex extact pandas
            Asked 2021-Apr-28 at 09:31

            I am trying to use to do a regex extract with Pandas by using the value from another column as a variable.

            df = pd.DataFrame({'text': ["The final is one of the most famous snooker matches of all time and pa", "Davis trailed for the first time at the event in the quarter-finals, as he played Terry Griffiths. "],'key': ["snooker", 'quarter-finals']})

            I was thinking of building a string as a parameter and passing it to the function like so

            reg = '((?:\S+\s+){0,10}\b'+'snooker'+'\b\s*(?:\S+\b\s*){0,10})' df['text'].str.extract(r'reg')

            but it generates this error

            There are a couple of issues here:

            • Word boundaries are set with literal \b (r"\b"), not with a backspace char ("\b"),
            • You cannot place variables into a regular, normal string literal, you need to use format() or f-strings
            • You also need a capturing group in the pattern.

            How to get per term statistics in Elasticsearch
            Asked 2021-Mar-20 at 11:23

            I need to implement the following (on the backend): a user types a query and gets back hits as well as statistics for the hits. Below is a simplified example.

            Suppose the query is Grif, then the user gets back (random words just for example)

            • Griffith
            • Griffin
            • Grif
            • Grift
            • Griffins

            And frequency + number of documents a certain term occurs in, for example:

            • Griffith (freq 10, 3 docs)
            • Griffin (freq 17, 9 docs)
            • Grif (freq 6, 3 docs)
            • Grift (freq 9, 5 docs)
            • Griffins (freq 11, 4 docs)

            I'm relatively new to Elasticsearch, so I'm not sure where to start to implement something like this. What type of query is the most suitable for this? What can I use to get that kind of statistics? Any other advice will be appreciated too.

            There are multiple layers to this. You'd need:

            • n-gram / partial / search-as-you-type matching
            • a way to group the matched keywords by their original form
            • a mechanism to reversely look up the document & term frequencies.
            I'm not aware of any way to achieve this in one go, but here's my take on it.
            1. You could start off with a special, n-gram-powered analyzer, as explained in my other answer. There's the original content field, plus a multi-field mapping for the said analyzer, plus a keyword field to aggregate on down the line:

            QUESTION

            Highest normal form
            Asked 2021-Feb-03 at 04:01

            My exam answers key and my answer (and answers of online tools) are different for the typical "Determine highest normal form of relation" question and I want to know why.

            Exam question: For the given relation R with schema H = {A, B, C, D, E} and functional dependencies F = {{B, C} -> {D, E}, {C, D} -> {B, E}, {D} -> {C}, {E} -> {B}}. Determine the highest normal form of R. Assume it's in the 1NF.

            My answer:

            I already have 1NF. Next I check 2NF.

            To do that, I need candidate keys. "A" is not in any dependency, so it has to be in the key. I can also add "D", and from {D} -> {C} I have {A, C, D}. Then from {C, D} -> {B, E} I have all {A, B, C, D, E}, so the {A, D} is indeed a candidate key. I can do the same for {A, B, C} and {A, C, E}, so I have candidate keys: {A, D}, {A, B, C}, {A, C, E}.

            2NF requires that "no non-prime attribute can be functionally dependent on any proper subset of any candidate key; a non-prime attribute is not a part of any candidate key of the relation". But I have {B, C} -> {D, E}, so E (a non-prime attribute) depends on {B, C} (a proper subset of {A, B, C}), so it's not in 2NF. Therefore it's only in 1NF.

            The exam answer:

            The relation is in the 3NF. Also this handy tool which checks normal form tells me it's 3NF.

            My question:

            Is this in 1NF or 3NF? My only doubt is for {B, C} -> {D, E} dependency. As I've written above, E is non-prime, but {D, E} as the whole contains 1 prime and 1 non-prime attribute. Do I make some mistake here?

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Feb-02 at 20:49

            Assuming F a cover of the functional dependences of R, you are correct assuming that the candidate keys are AD, ABC and ACE. So all the attributes are primes, no dependency can violate the 3NF, the relation is in 3NF, and for this reason it is also in 2NF.

            If you set autodetect_column_names to true then the filter interprets the first line that it sees as the column names. If pipeline.workers is set to more than one then it is a race to see which thread sets the column names first. Since different workers are processing different lines this means it may not use the first line. You must set pipeline.workers to 1.

            In addition to that, the java execution engine (enabled by default) does not always preserve the order of events. There is a setting pipeline.ordered in logstash.yml that controls that. In 7.9 that keeps event order iff pipeline.workers is set to 1.

            You do not say which version you are running. For anything from 7.0 (when java_execution became the default) to 7.6 the fix is to disable the java engine using either pipeline.java_execution: false in logstash.yml or --java_execution false on the command line. For any 7.x release from 7.7 onwards, make sure pipeline.ordered is set to auto or true (auto is the default in 7.x). In future releases (8.x perhaps) pipeline.ordered will default to false.

            In R's PR#17494 (and associated mailing-list thread), a problem with non-uniform sampling was discussed and fixed. This went into effect in R-3.6.

            The problem with your first code snippet is that the text you're passing as a parameter to the HTTP call is too long, if you print the response object you'll see:

            that corresponds to 414 URI Too Long Reference

            If you pass a smaller text, dbpedia-spotlight will be able to annotate the entities for you.

            For the second code that you put, you have two problems, the first one is that dbpedia-spotlight may respond with 403 status after consecutive calls to the annotate service, to check that I suggest you to do:
