            How to Join tables without generating a 'combinatorial explosion' - MySQL
            Asked 2021-Apr-27 at 16:50

            I am working on a databse named classicmodels. You can find it at: https://www.mysqltutorial.org/mysql-sample-database.aspx/

            This company sells miniatures, which are distributed among 7 product lines: classic cars, vintage cars, planes, trucks & buses, planes, trains and motorcycles.

            I want to discover which were the best-selling product lines (in units sold and in revenue) in 2003 and 2004.

            Also, I need to exclude orders that were cancelled. This is informed by the 'status' column in the 'orders' table.

            So, apparently, we have to join three tables: 'products' (to group the results by each productline), 'orderdetails' (to get the quantity sold and price per unit) and 'orders' (to filter the results: select only 2003 and 2004 and exclude cancelled orders).

            In addition, it is relevant to state that we will have to deal with 1:M (one-to-many) pairs to solve this problem, in order to avoid combinatorial/cartesian explosions.

            • products --> orderdetails is a 1:M relationship

            • orderdetails --> orders is a 1:M relationship

            Taking this into account, I decided to create subqueries to establish 1:1 relationships. So, I calculated the quantity ordered and the total value per product line:

            Just add another JOIN with the orders table, and the WHERE condition to limit to the orders you want.

            I'm trying to make an army list builder for a miniatures strategy game.

            I'd like to know the correct method to read a SQL table cell value and to put it for each unit into a ComboBox.text field, but only into the field.

            The ComBoBox collection items should not be modified (I need them to remain as it is). I just want the ComboBox.text value to be modified with the red framed value, and for each unit

            For the record, currently, I read the others table informations and load them into the others ComboBoxes this way :

            Asked 2020-Jul-27 at 12:06

            There's a nice answer around to plot a miniature plot within a plot. I wrapped it in a function which works fine for a single plot.

            ANSWER

            Answered 2020-Jul-27 at 12:06

            There's a couple of points here Jay. The first is that if you want to continue to use mfrow then it's best to stay away from using par(fig = x) to control your plot locations, since fig changes depending on mfrow and also forces a new plot (though you can override that, as per your question). You can use plt instead, which makes all co-ordinates relative to the space within the fig co-ordinates.

            The second point is that you can plot the rectangle without calling plot.new()

            The third, and maybe most important, is that you only need to write to par twice: once to change plt to the new plotting co-ordinates (including a new = TRUE to plot it in the same window) and once to reset plt (since new will reset itself). This means the function is well behaved and leaves the par as they were.

            Note I have added a parameter, at, that allows you to specify the position and size of the little plot within the larger plot. It uses normalized co-ordinates, so for example c(0, 0.5, 0, 0.5) would be the bottom left quarter of the plotting area. I have set it to default at somewhere near your version's location.

            The ReactHtmlParser library may be helpful for you here. It works by converting each element, attribute, text node, and inline style to the corresponding React components. One of it's main advantages is it avoids the need for the dreaded dangerouslySetInnerHTML.

            The right margin for .post is too large. Your container is 1140px wide and a post is 385px wide (width + right margin). 385 * 3 = 1155px, wider than your container so Masonry.js creates two columns instead of three. Reduce the right margin for .post to 20px.
