            Application Insights starttrackevent stopstrackevent across pages in a single session
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 22:35

            I am having trouble tracking down documentation on this, so hoping someone knows as I am not able to get application insights to capture telemetry on starttrackevent and stopstrackevent across pages. This is an asp.net mvc application, so SPA is not in play here.

            I am worried I may be doing something incorrectly, however the likely case is it doesn't support it.

            Flow:

            • user hits site for the first time
            • user does action that triggers startTrackEvent("eventName");
            • user navigates to a new page
            • user does action that triggers stopTrackEvent("eventName");

            -- from the appInsights readme https://github.com/microsoft/ApplicationInsights-JS/blob/master/README.md

            appInsights.startTrackEvent("event");

            appInsights.stopTrackEvent("event", null, {customProp1: "some value"});

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 22:35

            Not per documentation, but via testing, can confirm that when a new page loads, appInsights will not persist start/stoptrackevent.

            How do I use a Transaction in a Reactive Flow in Spring Integration?
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 18:32

            I am querying a database for an item using R2DBC and Spring Integration. I want to extend the transaction boundary a bit to include a handler - if the handler fails I want to roll back the database operation. But I'm having difficulty even establishing transactionality explicitly in my integration flow. The flow is defined as

            Well, it's indeed not possible that declarative way since we don't have hook for injecting to the reactive type in the middle on that level.

            Try to look into a TransactionalOperator and its usage from the Java DSL's fluxTransform():

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 16:13

            If the parent folder is api and a child is greek, then what you need is

            1. An __init__.py file in the api folder
            2. Then you can do from api import greek or from api.greek import *

            Updating my response since original post has been updated and a directory structure (different from earlier post) provided

            1. Based on your updated directory structure, I do not believe you need the __init___.py.
            2. It seems you need a function or class called alphabet which is in greek.py. You should just do import greek and then to use alphabet, you do greek.alphabet

            Unable to replace item with chinese word in partition key header in Azure Cosmos DB

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 09:35

            Azure Cosmos db is only supporting Unicode or ASCII in x-ms-documentdb-partitionkey while github.com/vippsas/go-cosmosdb package is using json.Marshal which internally transforms Unicode to Chinese characters automatically.

            The only way to solve it is using English as partition key when creating documents.

            React App running in Heroku fails when retrieving large amounts of data
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 18:09

            I have a react application (Node back end) running on Heroku (free option) connecting to a MongoDB running on Atlas (also free option). When I connect the application from my local machine to the Atlas DB all is fine and data retrieved (all 108 K records) in about 10 seconds, smaller amounts (4-500 records) of data in much less time. The same request from the application running on Heroku to the Atlas DB fails. The application running on Heroku can retrieve a small number of records (1-10) from the same collection of (108 K records), in less than a second. As soon as I try to retrieve a couple of hundred records the system fails. Below are the logs. I included the section of the logs that show a successful retrieval of 1 record and then failing on the request for about 450 records.

            I have three questions:

            1. What is the cause of the issue?
            2. Is there a work around in the free option of Heroku?
            3. If there is no work around in the free option, what Heroku pay level will I need to get to and what steps will I need to take to get this working? I will probably upgrade in the future but want to prove all is working before going in that direction.

            You're running out of heap memory in your node server. It might be because there's some statement that uses a lot of memory. You can try to find that or you can try to increase node memory like this.
