kandi X-RAY | hooks Summary
Hooks lets you define hooks declaratively in your ruby class. You can add callbacks to your hook, which will be run as soon as you run the hook!. It's almost like ActiveSupport::Callbacks but 76,6% less complex. Instead, it is not more than a few lines of code, one method compilation, no method_missing and no magic. Also, you may pass additional arguments to your callbacks when invoking a hook.

QUESTION
Update: Added a simpler demonstration jsfiddle, https://jsfiddle.net/47sfj3Lv/3/.
reproducing the problem in much less code I'm trying to move away from jQuery.
Some of my code, for populating some tables, has code like this
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 18:27This was difficult for me to understand, so I wanted to share if anyone else has the same issue.
It seems that an async method will break a method chain, there's no way around that. And since fetch is asynchronous, await must be used, and in order for await to be used, the calling method must be declared async. Thus the method chain will be broken.
The way the method chain is called must be changed.
In my OP, I linked https://jsfiddle.net/47sfj3Lv/3/ as a much simpler version of the same problem. StackOverflow's 'fiddle' effectively blocks 'fetch' for security reasons, so I need to use JSFiddle for demonstration.
Here's a working version of the same code using then
and how/why it works, and a slightly shorter version, because await can be specified with the the fetch, obviously.
QUESTION
I am building an app following the Rest Countries API challenge from frontendmentor (https://www.frontendmentor.io/challenges/rest-countries-api-with-color-theme-switcher-5cacc469fec04111f7b848ca). I have run into a problem. When clicking on the router link in countryDetail.js, the url changes but the component doesn't get re-rendered unless the page is refreshed.
CountryDetails.js
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 17:07The issue seems to be that you are already on the "/country/:name"
path and are clicking to visit another country. The router correctly updates the URL in the address bar, but because CountryDetail
is already mounted it neglects to recompute the item
and allCountries
state. This is because the useEffect
hook only runs once when the component mounts.
The name
param (match.params.name
) is actually a dependency for the GET requests, it should be added to the useEffect
hook's dependency array.

My classes are Hooks for setup and test. I try to click on cookie pop-up, using WebdriverWait, but don't work. I have no idea why.
I am a beginner with selenium and automation testing and I am writing a selenium script using java, TestNG, and maven. When I write everything in one class, all works fine, but I want to have a package for all objects, a package for tests, and Hooks with the main setting.

public WebDriver driver;
This declares a field, named driver
. Not sure why you made it public.
WebDriver driver = new ChromeDriver();
This declares a local variable, also named driver
, which is completely unrelated to the field you declared. As all local variables go, it ceases to exist when the method you declared it in ends. Because it has the same name, referencing variable driver
in this method refers to the local variable and not the field.
All you really wanted was to make that second line:
QUESTION
I'm new in the Vueniverse (using Vue.js 2) and I'm struggling with watch
. On mounted
, I call an API and set the radio button to the value I got from the API, so basically I have two radio buttons with values 1
and 0
(true/false).
I think the watcher works correctly, because it does trigger when the value is changed. However, I don't want it to trigger on the initial change - that's when I first set the value from the backend.
I've tried with different lifecycle hooks, such as beforeCreated
, created
and so on and it always triggers.
Probably it's something easy to do but I can't figure out how and don't find information on the Internet (might using the wrong keywords).
The code:

QUESTION
I have two functions , one of them adds an item in array and the other one delete from that array using React JS (hooks).[Both are handler of click event].
What I have works incorrectly.
``id`` comes from ``contact.length`` and I deleted it with``contacts.splice(id, 1)``.
I dont have any idea why it has this problem.
it doesnt delete what would be clicked but a random one. ...
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 04:12Here we're assuming that id
is the index of the element to be removed.
The splice
function returns the removed elements, thus is not useful to take its result. Instead, make a copy of the array first, then remove the undesired element:
